Only Trojan fans could love Kobe. As for me, even though he is a better player than T-Mc, I could never cheer for this egoistic Richard. IMO this sorry excuse of humanity is still laughing over being able to buy his way out of a rape conviction.

As much as I love Tracy & despise Kobe, I'd do this trade without any regrets. You'd have to think upper management would be all about it, because Kobe would put butts in the seats. However, I dont see them wanting Tracy. I see them wanting Yao. And I see that as a never gonna happen. Just my opinion . . .

Exactly. not because yao is a better player then tracy, but yao brings mony.. plenty of money. maybe even more then what shaq or kobe ever did for them. for that reason alone i cant see why the rockets would trade yao in the 1st place.

I'll trade T-Mac for Kobe in a heartbeat. I'll also trade JHo + Sura + JVG for Lamar Odom. So, T-Mac can play for "the best coach he's ever played for".

why would anyone here say they wouldnt trade tmac for kobe. are you all out of your mind. One guy is playing out his contract for the money while the other is striving to be the best to ever play the game. With kobe on this team instead of tmac, we would be playing in the WCF against the spurs as we speak.

Someone photoshop a rockets jersey on kobe for good luck!

Kobe is demanding a trade according to ESPN Radio.

Even though he's a better player than T-Mac, he won't make everyone better around him. He'll complain about Yao too much and disrupt the chemistry of the team.

no, kobe had his way in LA, and it didnt work. He now knows he cant do it by himself. He now will do whatever it takes to win.

Yes, yes, a million times yes. You do not pass up the opportunity to get the best player in the game and the best since Jordan.

I would do this in a heartbeat as well, and throw in Luther Head or V-Span.

I just can't see the Lakers wanting to bring in a half-broken down version of Kobe in Tmac because look at how bad they are right now. If anything they would trade him to a team for a lot of young players and rebuild.

For those who doubt for one second whether the Rockets should do this, ask yourselves an honest question. If this team had Yao and Kobe during the Jazz series, do we lose Game 7 at home? Hell, does it even go to a Game 7?

You don't even hesitate on a deal like this if the Fakers will bite. Kobe is the best player in the NBA. He has a competitive streak in him only the all-time greats exhibit. He can drop 50 on any team in the league seemingly at will. He's a solid defender(when motivated). And he's the same age as T-Mac, but without the history of back problems.

Is Kobe a pain in the ass? Sure. Is he selfish? Arguably, but what great players aren't? Does he have character issues? Definitely, regardless of what really happened in that hotel room in Colorado.

But getting him for T-Mac and no more than one or two bench players would make this team an immediate title contender. A real one, too. Not a hopeful pretender like we were this past season.

And the Fakers might just go for a deal like this. They have two choices should they decide to trade Kobe. Try to get another superstar which we can offer. Or blow up the team and try to rebuild, in which case they trade him for draft picks and younger players. If they go with Option #1, we're the best trading partner.

Good point. He's better than T-Mac but he can't make everyone better around him. In lakers there is only one player...But a real superstar should'n only score points. He should also pass the bell and make his temmates better. ANd Kobe cannot do it.

Even if Kobe leaves LA (I am doubting) he won't join Houston. Please understand it. We have Yao we have T-Mac. Leave Kobe alone. That's his problem.
