YES TOTALEXPERT! Trade Moochie for Kobe! Someone post this on a Lakers forum. They'll all be sayin HECK NO. No to Phil Jackson for Rudy Tomjanovich.
you know....kobe is a flat out better player than steve. he is taller and plays better defense. but kobe is a little b**** and tries to hard to be like MJ. he even imitates what MJ does...he is an unoriginal f**ker. steve has class and is a great guy. i would rather have steve and his faults than kobe "i am a woman in a man's body" bryant.
and your point is.......??? Ill take that as a compliment.. Yes, you are an ass and you are not sorry about it...quit lying.. if you think we arent up to your level of discussion....LEAVE..we wont miss you, I guarantee that. My reasons for rejecting Mini-MJ?? Well, I happen to like having classy team players on my team..I dont give a rat's butt how good you or ESPN think they are..Kobe is a little ball-hoggin b**** who wouldnt be nothing more than a good player(not an allstar) without the Big Daddy behind him.. Steve at least is showing real signs of being a loyal, hard-working team player who bleads Rocket red... I wouldnt give him up for anyone right now... Say it loud, say it PROUD!! I AM A ROCKETS HOMER AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!!
Personally, I think trading Francis for Kobe will destroy our chemistry. As much as I love Rudy, he doesn't seem like the quickest person to change an entire offense to suit the efficiency of his players. I still think he's a nice coach because he makes the Rockets a classy team even with the egos of our guards flying high and low. Trading Steve would mean having Mobley or someone else play the PG position and I can gaurantee that Mobley would not exactly jump at the idea of having Kobe taking his minutes and ... well... Steve. The franchise as in the Rockets, at this moment, is very nice in terms of chemistry and morale. Having Yao, and having Steve and Cat defending him on the court every minute of it is giving us something to cheer about. Watching them give props to each other when they win a game is what this game is all about. These individuals are working as a team. When you have something that seems to be working, you don't want to mess with it too much. Kobe is probably the best SG in the league, but Steve, imo, is one of the best PGs in the league as well. And with Cat, I think that trading Steve would create animosity and therefore, a tremondous blow to the team's chemistry.
You guys obviously didn't watch the game. Kobe kicked the ball out so many times to wide open teammates. If the Lakers (sans Kobe and Shaq) shot the league average, Kobe would average 10+ assists. Kobe is a better distrubutor than Steve. He just doesn't have the personel around him to make wide open shots. No comparison. Stupid trade that would never happen.
Kobe vs Stevie I would trade Francis for Bryant. 1. Kobe 27/7/7/2 per game. 2. Kobe is a better distributor than Francis. He is probably the best draw-kick player in the league. He's won two playoff games at Portland in two different years by drawing 2 defenders and kicking to a wide open Harper and Horry. He's like Magic Johnson in that regard. Commands respect in the waning secs of a game. 3. Kobe is a better rebounder than Francis. 4. Kobe is WAY more clutch than Francis. Some of you harped on the missed free throw in the recent game, but forgot his pull-ahead jumper. That loss was more the fault of Fisher diving on Yao's screen (as if the refs would call an illegal screen at that point of the game.) Kobe's KILLED teams in the playoffs. 48/16 at Sacramento in the clinching game in 2001 WCSFs. 45 on SA in 2001 WCFs, dunking three different times on Duncan and Robinson and shredding their interior defense like a dishrag. Scored 4 of LA's last 6 pts in LA's comeback against Porty in Gm7 (2000 WCFs) and lobbed the winning assist to Shaq. Beat Phoenix with a jumper near the buzzer in 2000 WCSFs. Beat San Antonio near the buzzer in 2002 WCFs. Beat Indiana near the buzzer in 2000 Finals. In the regular season, he once capped a 28 pt comeback when he batted in an intentionally missed free throw from 7 feet away to send a game at Golden St. to OT (and a win). He also hit a 3 near the buzzer at Sacto in 2000 to send a game to OT (and a win). He also beat Charlotte at the buzzer in 2002. He beat Phx near the buzzer in 2001. He beat Dallas with the last shot in the 30 pt comeback game (torching Finley in that final quarter). He beat New Jersey near the buzzer with an and-one in 2001. The list goes on and on... 5. Kobe is more of a freakish talent. 56 pts in 34 minutes, 12/18 threes, 5 triple doubles already this year, soon-to-be youngest player ever to score 10,000 pts, etc... 6. Kobe's a better post-up player. Houston brass would pull that trigger in a heartbeat.
1. I don't know why you suddenly compare the two. 2. We have already discussed this (Francis for Kobe) in detail yesterday. 3. Why don't you find that thread and post your "opinion" there? 4. If you are so fond of Kobe's "strengths", why don't you post this on a Lakers board? 5. This thread will be closed soon.
well, gee Mr Codell...I believe it was... Well, what do you know? It was on the front page when this thread was posted... but this thread pushed it off to page 2 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49977
I wanted to spur (pardon the term) on some cogent, creative, cozy Kobe conversation as to why he is a better player than Steve. Remember when Kobe scored 45 at Houston while shooting 20/26 in 2000? Also when he scored 28 pts against Houston in 12 minutes in 1998? Barkley was so infuriated that he stomped his foot a number of times in that game.
Even if Kobe is off, he still consistently commands a doubleteam. People don't doubleteam Stevie very often. Kobe is a much better player all around player but I like Stevie's attitude and heart. Seems like an easy answer at first but when you think about it, it's a pretty tough call. I'd hesitate, but would still do the trade.
not Kobe, I would hate to see anybody from the fakers play for the Rockets except for Robert Hory. I would ponder trading Franchise straight up for Mike Bibby. I would rather keep Franchise and trade Cattino, Cato and Glen Rice for Bibby.
Rise up, Kobe haters. Let's stuff the ballot here. Make it 1,000,000 NO to 167 yes. And Cappuci, this thread is not for Lakers fan to comment. Your posts don't count here.
As much as I hate those freakin' Lakers, I must admit: Kobe = money. There's nobody in the league who's as clutch as he is. I hate him, but I wish we had him. (I'd stop hating him then.)
