Personally, if I were OKC I would definitely consider trading Chet to build around a Shai/Giannis/Jalen core. Chet is much younger but has had some big injuries. I would see if they would all of the picks and any picks they could get for Hartenstein first, but I ultimately would think Giannis is a worthy upgrade to Chet.
Maybe. But then maybe OKC thinks Chet is younger and cheaper and they can win regardless they might not even want Giannis.
Sengun is already a top 25 player and is 8 years younger. He prob won't ever be as good as Giannis but Giannis won't be a top 3 player much longer. I'd do it if the rest of our key players were in their prime and ready to win now. But they are all at least 2-3 years away from that. By the time they are ready to win, who knows how good Giannis will be by then. Still very good undoubtedly, but the window will be 2-3 years tops. If it were a straight up swap maybe, but it'd cost a lot more than Sengun.
Gotta consider it for Giannis. Think about this though, Sengun is so good he would be the center piece on a Giannis trade. Not Jalen, not Amen, not anyone else. Sengun is our best player.
He can't shoot. NEXT.... he doesn't fit this style of basketball we like to play. I would trade green for booker though. That is another story.
Given our double big numbers I would want Giannis and Sengun together. jalen an fred can go. those two are literally the reason we are losing this series. they are too inconsistent for guards. anyone can do that just start reed and cam it cant be any worse.
He's playing with somebody now and they suck big names arent everything anymore. you need a cohesive team + a star.
If Giannis was closer to 25 or 26, you would have somewhat a discussion. It is not as much about Sengün as it should be about timeline.....and Giannis is 30......that has be accounted for. Also let's welcome Thanassis to the Rockets as well!
Reed played like a YMCA player tonight. Look how tight Vleet got with his shot and his control of the game. Without Vleet this team is doomed this series.
"spacing" lol people that harp on spacing are worse than the +/- hawks after one game lol 3's arent the only shot in the NBA and you dont need that many to win. Ask Anthony Edwards tonight.
So...I'm starting to backtrack from my previous position in favor of a Giannis-Sengun centered trade. Now, I think I'd rather either (1) make our draft pick and run it back to see how we've developed; or (2) swing a major trade for a third piece that complements Sengun and Amen after the draft order is set.
Fred has actually had a good series. He just had a terrible game 1. Fred's TS % is at 58.4 for the series and he's providing his typical strong defense and steady ball-handling. Fred is peaking at the right time of the year. Fred is not the problem in this series.
