Would you trade Sengun for Giannis?

You'd be replacing the best player on the team with a better player, but someone who can't score further than 3 feet from the rim....on a team with no quality scorers.

Replacing Sengun for Giannis doesn't significantly improve the team as a result.

Now, if we add Giannis next to Sengun, it could be a much better version of the Sengun/Adams lineup...which would be awesome. But losing your only quality player for a 31 year old potential upgrade for the last few quality seasons of his career is not a significant upgrade overall.

The Spurs have slightly more leverage than the Rockets. Houston may have to overpay for him.

 

Giannis has all the leverage. If wants to go to the Rockets over SA that is where he will go.

People ragging on Jalen for the playoffs (rightly) conveniently ignore that Alpy was our 2nd worst dude in terms of making shots. And a lot of the time it was because Alpy basically softed out and faded from contact rather than finishing through it.

That would basically be uprooting the whole foundation that has been built over the last years for a ready-to-win Superstar, Championship or bust.
It could work, yes, but even if it results in a C'Ship, for me, it would feel different.

 

It is completely feasible to trade Jalen, Sengun, FVV and picks for Giannis, Sabonis, and Lavine. Tell me that Amen, Lavine, Giannis, Jabari, Sabonis is not a top 4 lineup in this league, and still maintain a very good bench.
