Nah, you keep saying what he wouldn't do here because of what he doesn't have yet Green only took 2 less shots with this same team for 20ppg. Did you know Giannis shot 48% from 10-16 ft? So what level do you qualify that as?
Are you sure that Alperen doesn't requiere double teaming? Coach seems to think otherwise. https://www.talkbasket.net/187807-ime-udoka-alperen-sengun-is-third-most-double-teamed-player-in-nba
OKC will trade for Giannis and it will be KD to the Warriors part 2. crazy part is that OKC can throw even more 1sts into this deal and not sweat at all. Giannis will be a Thunder next season.
If sengun had shooters his efficiency would be up and he'd average a triple double. He may not get 30 points. But 22-12-11 would be nice.
Yeah when you see it laid out like that, I'm not sure we can come close to that at all. That's a no brainer for OKC.
OKC is not crazy enough to trade Jalen Williams for a 30 year old of any kind. And give away 3 good players plus 5 FRP on top of it. Insane overpay. BUT, in a negotiation, Milwaukee will ask for stuff like that.
Bucks had a record of 48-34 in the weak east. I think the team will be worse with Giannis, there is not enough shooting on this current team let alone with Giannis on it.
I think OKC's payroll, while in a great situation as basically everyone is on a good salary, gets tough very quickly with SGA, Chet, and JW all up for raises soon. As such, I don't think age is a big deal for a trade centered on Jalen Williams for Giannis. Other stuff may make it that OKC would say no.
If we include Sengun in a Giannis trade, do ya’ll think Bari could operate in a stretch 5 role? Something like this lineup: FVV / Green / Amen / Giannis / Bari
Super tough one, but Giannis could attract other talent here too... Not sure a Giannis Amen lineup can thrive. At some point people gotta learn how to shoot.
As long as Jalen Green is our starting 2 guard we are capped as to how good we can be, so it really doesn't matter what the rest of the lineup looks like.
Sengun is an option because this is a substantial upgrade. Jabari is a good fit. We can run with this collection and play defense.
I would trade Sengun only if it didn't contain Tari, Jabari, Amen, Reed and it's not because those players are better than Sengun, it's more so they fit better next to Giannis. Giannis gonna turn 31 this December, with how much he relies on his athleticism, I'd be careful trading for him because his window is likely the next 4-5 years barring injuries. At this point there are no signs that Sengun will ever turn into Jokic so I'd consider this trade if and only we can get another scoring star to pair with him like Booker or KD.
Sengun for Giannis doesn't meaningfully improve the team.... and it could actually make things worse when it comes to spacing. If you get Giannis, you'd want to pair him with Sengun.... but then you couldn't play Amen.
IMO, the only way a true Giannis deal works is by packaging it with a trade for KD as well. You deal Alpi, Jalen, Dillon, Cam, Holiday and all the picks to bring those two to Houston. Then you build around Giannis, KD, Amen, Jabari, and FVV. Plus you still have Reed and Tari off the bench, and a (hopefully) re-signed Steven Adams. It SIGNIFICANTLY shortens your window, but that is a championship-level roster IMO.
I’ll say this — if Sengun is the centerpiece in a Giannis trade, we shouldn’t have to give up all our draft capital as well. Some, sure. All, no.
There first round picks all suck, but they would be crazy to include Jalen Williams in any package for Giannis. They are very close to a championship with what they have and I don't see them being involved. I think somehow he might make his way to Miami if they can get a third team involved or we stay firm on not including Sengun. Question: If the Rockets provide Sengun a one of their picks to the Bucks and Miami sends Bam and Herro to us would you take it?
