Wait, people are really this high on Sengun? No wonder I catch so much heat for just being realistic.

    You aren’t realistic.
Alp is the best player on this team, there is no debate about that.
The fact that you said you would have hesitation with Jalen but not Alp shows that you have your biases.
Alp and Amen are the future, Amen has further to go to reach superstar potential.
They’re both 22, they will get there.

According to ESPN, Amen Thompson is the one and only untouchable on the Houston Rockets. Sengun and Jalen? They're potentially on the table.

That's not bias. It's just our reality.

If that's hard to hear, I have to ask why. Maybe it's just how we're wired, how allegiance to a favorite player kicks in like a reflex. We seem to take criticism of them a little too personally, with loyalty trumping logic.

Never mind, I think I see it now. There's a real gap between how you view Sengun and how things actually are.

You've got to admit, if the roles were reversed and those guys were in Rockets jerseys and Sengun were somewhere else, this conversation would sound very different. No one here would be saying, "Let's trade Cade for Sengun." That tells you something about how much context shapes perception.

It would depend on what other moves we would make.

I don't see that our remaining roster would fit particularly well with Giannis. We'd have to shuffle some other players around. FVV, Dillon and Jabari probably fit well with Giannis. Jalen, Amen and Tari probably don't. Amen is our future superstar so that's a big problem.

I also like Sengun's contract a lot and would hate to give that up.

Giannis is an amazing player and I can't imagine Sengun every surpassing him. I think I'd prefer to just keep Sengun though all things considered. It would just be too complicated to flip the roster to accommodate Giannis. I really like this roster and would prefer to just build around Amen and Alpi.

    There’s no disconnect.
Cade’s one season doesn’t forgive his previous.
Advanced metrics don’t agree with you buddy, sorry that’s hard to hear for you.

Paolo isn’t even in the discussion. Chet is a secondary player, same as Mobley. Cade plays zero defense and as good as his bulk numbers are, he’s still below Alp in some advanced metrics.
Jalen for Cade is an absolute upgrade.

I would trade him but when giannis comes this team will not be champions right away, besides giannis is 31 years old and a physical player, in 2 years he will be an old giannis and he may be a failure

You say you would trade him then lay out exactly why they shouldn't do it. Sengun for Giannis would be a huge mistake making our large window a whole lot smaller. We have a very young roster with at least two almost for sure superstars in their early stages of becoming superstars still 3-5 years away from their prime. It makes zero sense to move one to get a player already 5-6 years into this prime. It makes the window much smaller.

I don't mind him here but my favorite Nigerian player will always be named the Dream Olajuwon.

He is more in the mold of a slimmer Shaq like Player.

So my vote goes to the 3rd Option - I don't care.....either way. I wish to keep Sengün for 5 more years.

I would probably trade it, but the results might not be positive, so it's actually a difficult decision.

Barring injury, Giannis probably has three prime (superstar-level) years left, followed by another two years of All-Star-level performance. The Rockets' window falls within that five-year timeframe. So yes, I would absolutely trade Sengun for Giannis. The best time would be this offseason or next season. After that, it's a toss-up, depending on how much Sengun progresses

I'd really appreciate if you stop pretending like Sengun and Jalen are equals in any context. Because they are not.

It's really hilarious that Jalen stans, Sengun doubters are too embarrassed to post these bullshits from their main accounts. I absolutely love how pathetic you are, lol.

My friend, nothing you said is hard to hear. It’s just kind of funny, that’s all. You've got to realize, none of those teams are lining up to trade their guy for Sengun. And outside of Houston? Probably 99% of NBA fans would look at that take and raise an eyebrow. It’s not personal. It just doesn’t line up with how the rest of the league sees things.

    But hey, carry on.

Rest of the league doesn't watch the Rockets games dumbass. They still think Jalen is the guy in Houston when he's actually the 8th best player on the roster at best, lol.

If by rest of the league you mean other front offices, I guarentee you there are a lot of teams who'd give up a lot for Sengun or Amen.

You nailed this exactly. Brooklyn Night knows nothing about what anyone thinks outside of Houston or anywhere else. He’s just another fan boy that looks at draft position and number stats to make idiotic proclamations.

all the people who voted yes probably loved the clippers trade for Paul George. Now look at it viewed as one of worst trades of all time and SGA is about to become MVP when no one considered him in that breath.

There are soo many other factors to consider like age, contracts and what else we would have to give up.

If the question was would you give up Sengun straight up for Giannis it's probably a yes but it's unrealistic. And to gut the team for a guy who clearly can't win without help would be dumb.

Who said they are equals? On the market, Sengun probably holds more value than Jalen. But let's be clear, he’s not in the same category as Amen Thompson. Amen's untouchable. Sengun? He's tradeable, if the return is right.

What trips my mind is that people are losing it over the idea of trading Sengun for Giannis Antetokounmpo! We're talking about Giannis. That’s not disrespect, it's just common sense.

The victim complex among Sengun supporters is something else. I've been labeled a hater, a Jalen stan, even accused of being someone’s burner account, all because I dared to say he's not untouchable and, get this, I’d trade him for Giannis. Imagine that! Logic treated like blasphemy.
