if we were to trade oswalt, itd probably be to a winning team. he has a no trade clause and he wont wanna go to a crap team like the rangers. oswalt is signed til 2011 with a 2012 option, so we're gonna get ALOT back since he's not a pending free agent. Boston Red Sox: RHP Michael Bowden RHP Justin Masterson 2B/SS Jed Lowrie LA Angels: RHP Nick Adenhart RHP Sean O'Sullivan RHP Stephen Marek Chicago White Sox: RHP Lance Broadway OF Jose Martinez 2B Chris Getz RHP John Ely LA Dodgers: 3B Andy Laroche RHP Jon Meloan RHP James McDonald Philadelphia Phillies: LHP Josh Outman LHP Joe Savery 2B Adrian Cardenas Anytime you get a #1 pitcher who is locked up for 3-4 more years, youre gonna pay out the wazoo for him.
No winning team is gonna trade the farm for someone who is alittle over the hill.. Anyway Thanks for Smoak... I'll always think of the Astros for letting him get to Texas.. Probebly wouldn't have signed him anyway... Enjoy Castro
LOL at you. You ask us what we think, and when we tell you the truth, you get all whiny like a little girl, start talking (not very effective draft) trash and then go on to start badmouthing the player that you were just wanting to trade for. Are you really that emotionally fragile and insecure? If you don't want the honest answer, then don't ask the question.
right...cuz oswalt is 30 years old and over the hill. come back whining when you need some pitching you b****.
The "third pitcher" to "help" Millwood and Padilla part is what got me. Oswalt would help them move their stuff out their locker so he can take their's.
I said alittle over the hill... and thats better than anything we have outside of Padilla.. I wasnt badmouthing him. You people just blow everything out of proportion. It's ok though because I understand that as a fan you feel obligated to stand up for your team when someone says negative. But you guys take it to a different level. Get off the crack houston. Geez..
A Rangers fan talking s***? Seriously? Exactly when was the last time they made the playoffs? I'll always think of the Rangers when I think of the Rays, Orioles, Royals, and Nationals
That's not fair to the Rays and Orioles. The last (and only) time the Rangers won a playoff game (not series) was 1996, their last time making the playoffs was 1999. The Rays have only existed since 1998. Their future looks pretty good these days. The Orioles won playoff series in both 1996 and 1997. They're at least .500 this year. So the Rangers are in really rarefied air with the Royals and Nationals. At least long time Royals fans have something to go back to. And at least the Nationals franchise can go back to 1994 and wonder, "what if?"
When I think of that franchise, I think of Andre Dawson, Charlie Lea, Dennis Martinez, Andres Galarraga, Tim Wallach, Tim Raines, Gary Carter, Al Oliver, Chris Speier, Bill Gullickson, etc. They had some pretty good teams in the '80s.
Padilla or Oswalt. Hmmmm... that's a close one. MMmm.. well.. I'm gonna have to go with.. Oswalt.. yeah.. In fact, if you asked every team in the league they could have only one of these guys, I'm willing to say just about every one of them would choose Roy over Vincente feakin Padilla. Since you're not on crack, you've seem to let your Ranger-delirium affect your judgment.
Not to make excuses, but we were playing the Yankees of the late 90's. The Rangers just had horrible luck when it came to the playoff seeding. The Yankees went on to win 2 world series titles out of 3 after beating the Rangers in the first round. We have a very bright future aswell. We may not have as much talent as the Rays in our farm system, but who does. We do however have the second best farm system in baseball... And another thing. Were not at 500.?? Do you even check the standing before posting?
It's a solid assumption. I'm sure it will be an accurate assumption again within the next week or so.
