it was a desperation move to free up salary space for a run at Kobe

Why trade our backup center for a 3rd PF?

    This makes alot of sense...

NO response so far. :D Either they all agree or you being ignored. I think the latter would be the most insulting of all.

Would I do it? Absolutely. As much as I love Mutumbo and what he's brought to the table he's 38 years old and isn't in our long term plans. If we can use him in a deal that will bring in someone who will be part of our long term plans, we'd be absolutely nuts not to be. However, I'm still not sure many teams would consider Mutumbo a difference maker on a contender.

here is the problem, PF's that can help us are on the market right now. (lafrentz, chandler, nene, wilcox, b.grant, j.smith, zo, a.williams, magloire, pj.brown, k.thomas, marshal, e.thomas) but we have nothing to offer!!!

i believe that sura, ward, and barrett have all we need at PG for now. that makes lue expandable.

between tmac, jj, sura, and boki the 2/3 is fine. so gaines can go.

every single 4 we have can go...well i actually like padgett, everyone else is overpaid and under producing.

so if our main need is a 4 and our best offer consists of any of our 4's + lue, gaines, and the TE. we wont get any of those guys.

You mean a 5th PF. Including Mo, Juwon, Spoon, and Padge. :(

Now, if we could package a couple of them....

I really like Kurt Thomas. I wouldnt mind giving up Howard and a little something else for Kurt. He would be a pretty good fit on this team. Great outside shooter and thats what we need. I like the way he hustles. Only problem is he might have a little trouble with the more athletic power fowards but thats not a big deal. Im sure we could work something out. Personally though. I wouldnt give up Mutombo for. He is a decent back up that does his job very well and thats all we need for now. Maybe next season something might happen but not now. If we get Kurt though. We could offically name the team the Houston Knicks.

Maybe we could get them to accept Reice Gaines istead of Boki. I think this would meke us a more athletic team. I would hate to give up Dike the way he is playing right now but I like a starting lineup of
    Ming 7'6"
    Thomas 6'9"
    Mcgrady 6'8"
    Hardaway 6'7"
    Sura 6'5"

This gives us a pretty tall, athletic starting lineup and a decent bench with JJ, Ward Mo T coming of the bench. I guess Mo would have to play some backup center.
