After you stick it under a table and let it stay there for a while to harden...I'd trade THAT for MoT!
Are you kidding me? You trade MoT's contract for an expiring contract anyday of the week, twice on Sunday. Absolutely.
No, We are better with J-Ho starting at the 4 than with Cato....the reason is the other team has to honor his offensive game...that would not be the case with Cato. Cato was a stop gap measure, nothing more. Yao is the Center, and we need a quality PF.....J-ho is average, but adequate. DD
Is the salary cap room we'd clear enough to sign a good free agent? Because if we clear less than the mid-level exception by trading Mo away, we're better off keeping the contract.
After you scrape it from under the table and chew on it some more, I'd trade it for Mo. Oh and I'd give you a ride to the hospital.
Living in the Bay, I get to see Cliff play on a regular basis. The guy is old, but he's one of the best defenders in the game, plus he has range on his jumper. Let's face it, Yao, Mo-T, and Howard are probably the worst defending front court in the league. Trading Mo-T for Cliff would be a major upgrade, defensively. Plus we'd get to unload Mo-T's contract, which in itself, is why the Rockets should do the deal.
Who was the player we traded for the equivalent of a cheesburger or some other lowly dollar amount? Was it Vernon M? I would trade MoT for the flu.
I'd do Mo for Cliff & Najera or Mo for Cliff. Cliff's range includes 3pters on a regular basis. not so MO & Howard plus the defense would be much better. Mo isn't playing now, so we wouldn't be giving up a major piece of our success right now. The only drawback would be Robinson's playing time would cut into Padgett's pt & Padgett needs his minutes to be effective.
I would trade Mo T for a half eaten can of SPAM that someone mixed with that piece of re-chewed gum that everyone keeps passing around !
Hell, I'd trade Mo Taylor for Dale Davis and his expiring contract. Davis is absolutely washed up at this point and making $10 mill. Cliff can still play physical D for about 15 minutes a night. No way could we land him. Nets haven't been able to get him for their TE and 2nd rounder (Mullin holding out for a #1). How would MoT, with a weak work ethic, zero D, and bloated contract be more enticing? Clear out Taylor asap. I wouldn't use a draft pick as incentive (we really need young blood), but move him and clear some space. We may not be FA players, but Taylor's $10 million salary alongside two max contracts (Yao and McGrady) will absolutely freeze our payroll flexibility. Les Alexander is not James Dolan. Evan
The question is, why would Golden State want MoT? Given the choice, you would think they would rather just hold on to Robinson's contract and let expire at the end of the year. Do they need an overpaid PF who can score but plays no D or can't rebound? Although, we are talking about Mullin -- he's made some questionable moves.
