That was really nice. Gotta love a kid that still reps in hometown being thousands of miles away. If we don't trade for him, I bet he signs with us when he is a free agent.
Come April, just remember what I said, and that 178 people voted to trade Head for Green. Come April.
all i know is that gerald green will make watching a game a little more fun than luther head. head is downright a better overall player, but green would be fun to watch. that being said, its always more fun to watch when we're winning, so head gives us a better shot for that. haha, Green or Head? Tough decisions! btw, green only has 4 fingers on his shooting hand!
I said this in the All Star thread after the Dunk Contest. BTW, why does everybody automatically thinks a long skinny athletic person makes a good NBA player? College teams are littered with those type and only a handful make it and stick in the NBA. If Gerald Green went to college, I'm willing to bet he would have been exposed as a player that's all talent and no capacity to learn and get better, and would have never been a lottery pick. Edit: He was the 18th pick, but was speculated as a lottery pick. Guess plenty of teams figured him out and got scared.
Yes.......but sorry don't want a gangbanger on my team. Plus he skipped college (ie OSU) for the NBA. I can only laugh at his decision now cause he's struggling to find a spot in the pros
To all the Head Fans, one of the big reasons the Rox have a winning streak is cus Head is injured any real fan can tell you that. the deal is a no brainer you cant get worse than Head
How the hell can you say that man is a gangbanger? You don't know him he could be the coolest person in the world all you know.
He is making $1.4M this season alone. That's a compelling argument not to regret skipping college. I will gladly give him both of my degrees for his salary.....
Let me get this sright just because a guy has tattoos and doesn't smile that means hes a gangbanger. Never judge a book by its cover.
Yes you can. You can be stuck with Gerald Green and be frustrated that all that talent amounts to nothing, except being in the Dunk Competition. Pretty soon they won't invite him anymore cause they don't want journeymen scrubs getting into those competitions. Anyone ever saw that WB classic cartoon of the singing frog? That is Gerald Green in a nutshell.
Please don't talk Statistics, I think I bombed that exam last Thursday. And to the guy who said you don't get worse than Head, yes you do, his name is Gerald Green. And you do realize we are what 17-3? Head has only missed four games, and we barely squeezed by Sacramento. And before that we played crappy teams/or injury riddled teams. Brandon Roy barely came back that game against us. Take that last game against Sacramento as a sign of how important a shooter is on this team.
Ok, thanks for the objective perspective unlike some rook with 27 posts calling my post r****ded. How original! He might want to read a few hundred more to find out what r****ded looks like. Just color me confused I mean I thought this guy came out of Gulf Shores and that he had all the tools to go in that T-Mac; Kobe like mold? I mean if Beantown would not have taken him, I thought the consensus would have been the Rockets would have instead, right? Was not aware of Green's basketball IQ deficiencies. Yeah, I guess with exception of Al Jefferson, the T-Pups are largely crap. It's just my thinking is right now the swingmen that are peaking out are Monta Ellis and Shawn Marion. Those two guys are absolutely frightening. Ellis is just putting up sick numbers for the Warriors of late. So, is it already set in stone that he's a bust? I mean could he have ANY game with better coaching, better offensive scheme? Or is he all blow and hardly any show? Like Eddie Griffin was. Man, what a waste he was! It just seems all that talent and he can't put it together to compete much less be a star? Just asking ...
With Carl Landry providing some athleticism there would be room on the rotation for Green. Head although being a tweener (according to JVG) is a good shooter, he and Novak can be used in certain game situations. I have no problem if they trade Head but it should be for a PG or a PF.
Wow, how insightful of you? And I should care what you have to say because ... uh Buehler? Anyone ... anyone? For the record, never said he was T-Mac or Kobe. I said in the potential mold of T-Mac or Kobe. I simply thought with proper coaching and maybe a good kick in the ASS, he could get his act together. Have not seen much of the guy except a few token minutes when we play Minny earlier. Just hard to believe the guy has been in the league now in his 3rd season in the NBA and he's a zero and perhaps even a bust? DAMN, just like another Eddie Griffin except this time we didn't draft that guy. Lastly, YES my POV IS relevant in how and what Head's game became in the playoffs vs Utah last year. In the playoffs, you are as strong as your weakest link. It seems if Luther isn't scoring on the 3 ball then we aren't getting much out of him otherwise. He does not penetrate the lane consistently or draw double teams. So if he does not improve his game we will be in the same DAMN position potentially last year with consistent double even triple teams on T-Mac and forcing other perimeter players to beat them.
I make the trade in a heartbeat. Head I think has a better shot at being a consistently serviceable role player, but Green on the otherhand could wash out after a few years or he could explode. Too much potential upside not to pull the trigger on this one.
I would be willing to bet Gerald Green's career in the NBA is over within the next two years. He does not have the mentality to play the game. I saw it tonight........again, in the dunk contest. He's so dumb.......................he can't even interview. There's no way he understands how to play basketball.
