    NO

Right now we have three guys to rotate through the PF & C position, Landry, Scola & Hayes, 4 if Dorsey gets off the bench; which he will probably have to due to lack of bodies.
The only way we can afford to trade Scola is if we can get a big, and other pieces out of some kind of trade involving Tracy's contract.

ie: Tracy + Scola for whatever

As far as a straight trade, what could we possibly get for Scola that would make the trade worth while for us?
I would hate to see us trade Tracy's contract for 2nd or 3rd tier overpaid players; especially an overpaid big. I would hate it even more if the trade involved Scola or Landry.
Maybe sometime during the season better trade options will present themselves, but at this time does anyone realistically see one materializing?

Hold on to Scola, and hold on to Tracy’s contract no need to get tied into garbage contracts just to get someone over 6’ 9”.

Its going to be a tuff year; hopefully Yao gets back after this next season and our roster doesn’t have so many holes in it.

The sky is falling!!! The sky is falling!!!!!

Hell no keep him! I want to win, a .500 team is better than a .400 team.
You can't just give in and quit so quickly. Granted we're not gonna win a Championship, but you just don't roll over because things have yet to go our way. Everyone is now talking about rebuilding and tanking a season and letting everyone go that might cost us a dollar in the free agent market. For some superstar that we might or might not get. IMO that's not how competitors play the game, you play to win and you have a strategy. I believe Les, DM and Rick have a plan. A short term goal and a long term goal and a being very cautious not to disrupt this plan in the face of adversity. I would be very disappointed in the Rockets org. if they scraped the season and gave away the farm for a lottery pick.

Everyone is tradable, that's not what I'm saying. But in a season or a couple of season's that haven't gone our way, you don't trade one of the only bright spots you've had. Scola is a winner, I want to win. So unless Scola is mandatory in the signing of a player that you can build a team around, he stays. Players like Shane and Scola will show the young players how to go about your business in the NBA professionally and how the game is approached and played on the court.

I want to win, so my vote is to keep.

Hey here is an idea......instead of trying to trade
our most consistent player why don't we try and
sign a few more Scolas's.....
Be careful what you wish for because you might just get it!

I really would hate to see scola on another team. His hustle is just a huge factor and I rarely see anyone hustle as hard as scola these days.

I would love that but one question...with what money? Thats the whole issue, I would love to keep Scola here for as long as the man plays at this level but realistically can we or at what cost. Everyone wants a big time free agent but will it possible if we resign Scola at his market value....remember he is a restricted free agent what if someone pulls a Millsap offer or "Toxic Offer then what??? Everyone is going after the big ticket guys but most will resign and then everyone else will be going with Tier 2 guys like Scola.

There is no way I would trade Scola unless the team for sure would get better for doing so and there just aren't many realistic scenarios where that would occur.

Haven't said that, I will keep following his career regardless of what happens. He is one of my favorite players.

If we're rebuilding, then trading guys his age is a no-duh move. If we're still trying to win now, then no.

I do believe that Scola will be a hot commodity when/if he becomes a free agent...
and will receive either from the Rockets or another organization a substantial pay increase...
after all you are worth what someone is willing to pay you......in my opinion I would rather
reward a player whom I have no doubt will give you all he's got than some pre-madonna super-star
of whom you constantly have to be catering to....Iverson,Marbury,McGrady ect.

I strongly disagree. Being a .500 team is the worst thing you can be in sports. Too good to improve through the draft, yet too bad to compete for a championship or lure prized free agents. Stuck in no man's land.

Said what I was thinking very well. As part of a deal to land a superstar to build a team around, sure. Tossed into a deal to make the numbers work while getting a couple of "good players," absolutely not. I'm a huge fan.

    Viva Scola!

I say we keep Scola, sign Oberto, and use them to lure Rubio, Rudy Fernandez, and Marc Gasol over here.

    Gasol
    Scola
    Ariza
    Rudy
    Rubio

What i really don´t understan is why we havn´t offered the league min to Oberto, he is a defensive player, has solved his heart problem, and knows how to play around Scola who will most likely end being our first offensive option.

I said "end being" because i expect Brooks or some other player to try to "showcase his talent" until Adelman clearly realises that is Scola or no one.

I would really like to see the Rockets pursue Oberto, but what is his current situation? Would we have to trade to get him or was he released?
