No. Lowry is the motor of this team. You trade for Gasol if you want to contend for a championship, and without a good starting PG that will be extremely difficult.

Why would Indiana trade Danny Granger for Kevin Martin and Terrence Williams? And you're definitely the idiot if you think the Rockets can just sign Wilson Chandler lol. 1. How do they sign him without cap space and 2. He is a restricted free agent. Denver isn't gonna let him walk.

    It would be dumb.

A move like that could set this team back given how much of the cap Gasol commands.

And while he is a very good player, he is not the type of player who can turn this team into a contender.

Please take Griffin out of that list. That guy is horrible! He has ZERO post game. All someone has to do is pull the chair on him every time and he's pretty much done for the night. His only move is take couple of dribbles, turn his back, do a spin move and shoot it. He does it OVER and OVER and OVER again.

This is true. Dude has zero post game. All hype and athleticism.

I don't see why having athleticism is so bad.
Skill only guys like the Europeans don't carve out a better existence.
Given you have both.... but if you have to choose between one of two

You go with athleticism and try to teach some skills than the other way round.
    Wait.... athleticism can't be taught.

No. Not even straight up. Gasol is not worth Lowry.

His idea may be far-fetched, but it's miles ahead of your "trade Lowry for Gasol."

Also, you asked what he would do, not what was realistic or what other teams would agree to. Furthermore, in case you weren't aware of this, but Lowry for Gasol also doesn't work. Try the trade machine if you don't believe me. You might want to go easy on tossing the idiot label around so cavalierly as well.

I do agree with Rowdy though to the extent that Morey is in a tough spot. it's a place he can't survive in. His honeymoon has long since over with in Houston.

He can't survive in his job by bringing in an 8th place team who gets excused from the post season in the first round.

No matter how many hustling, maximum effort, gritty players he keeps around. No matter how much the coach works his tail off.

None of that stuff counts for much when most of your teams are lottos and when you're really good your out in the first round.

The clock is ticking on Morey. Lowry or no Lowry. Morey had better pull a rabbit out of his hat and soon or he'll be gone and he knows it.

This does tend to produce desperate moves.

Straight up (with some salary filler), it's at least an interesting thought... but still no. Besides which, to fill that salary gap, we'd probably have to give up something else worthwhile, like maybe Dalembert or something because Lowry is such a damn good bargain.

    So in conclusion: hell no.

I used him just for relevance to our team. The list could fill pages. Athleticism wears thin long before skill coupled with intelligence. A lot of scouts in this league are drafting with their priorities backwards. Just look at our '09 draft bench bunch. All stupid athletes who never developed a single skill set, much less a complete and well rounded one.
