Lin doesn't take bailout threes now ? But to answer the old op question yes I would take Lillard over Lin anyday in this system. I was just trying to make something clear about comparing them 1on1. You have to compare harden to Lillard
When did I ever say Lin doesn't take bailout 3s? I'm clearly disputing your claim that most of Lin's 3s are bailout 3s. You are implying that the difference in 3 point percentage between Lin and Lillard are due to the fact that most of Lin's 3 point shots are bail out shots, whereas most of Lillard's 3 point shots are wide open.
Got you, I said Lillard usually takes pull-up 3s like off p&r, or 3s off ball movement. But you're right Lillard is a better 3point shooter and the stats prove it
LOL at this thread Lillard is in a different league to Lin. Lillard is a top 10 PG while Lin is 18 and above.
I checked 82games.com to see if your observation is consistent with their numbers. And, actually, it looks like they are.
So I guess the real question is... If Lin took 17 shots per game and was the go-too perimeter scoring option for his team would A. His per game numbers be up there where Harden and Lillards are and B. Would he be able to be as efficient when the other teams gameplan to stop him every play for 15 to 20 shot attempts a game? It seems IMO that is the main argument that Lin fans want to prove to the naysayers & realists that think otherwise. (not calling you a Lin fan but just pointing that out in general). I for one, haven't really seen any proof to debate either way other than looking at that small sample size in New York, and the few games where Harden has been out in Houston where he took a higher volume of shots, and also gauging wins as well. I will say this though... statistically Lin looks way more convincing than watching him in real time with the eye test. Without viewing advanced stats, there isn't a living breathing soul that would dare to put Lin in the same conversation as Lillard, or Harden on the offensive end. I root for the guy pretty heavily, but I just dont see his role on a GOOD TEAM being anything better than 6th man scoring guard or mediocre starting guard. Maybe if he played SG next to a Rondo type of PG he could thrive more offensively, but that is pretty unlikely. IMO in the NBA long term Lin is just a "good" player... not great, not bad, but good. (Whether he is good for the Rockets though is a whole other debate)
I can understand why we, the Rockets, would do this trade. But what benefit would there be for Portland? Lilliard is one of the top 5 pgs in the league while Lin is the second best pg on our team.
Yes, whatever it takes. But would U trade Harden for Lillard? Ask Morey on 790.he'll said i would not trade TJones for Lillard. LOL
I would also take Anthony Davis over tjones I would also take Anthony Davis over tjones, and I like tjones.
Interesting comparison but no. Lillard is a poor man's Westbrook with a similar style of play that will get him a busted knee or 2 in his career that may never look the same again. You mean this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddf96GKhyn4 Um, no where near Linsanity if these were his best 10.
