Really wishing we traded Harden for Herro, he seems to have taken the next step.

Yes, Herro looks great, but we made the right deal for James. Brooklyn is already imploding before our eyes. And, those picks/swaps are gaining value by the day.

Stone missing on Mobley, signing Theis and now this.

There is a reason why I question Stone all the time.

I don't think Stone missed on Theis.

You gotta understand they made that deal before the draft and he's on a value contract for a capable starter at the C spot and the idea when they signed him was to allow Wood to move to the 4 where he wanted to play.

Now had they known they would come out of the draft with Sengun & Garuba , I don't think they would have signed Theis .... but that's hindsight.

And his contract is a value deal for a capable starter at the C spot who does all the dirty work and can step out and hit 3's at a reasonable rate - 33.3% for his career. He's played really good interior defense too .... That's a contract that is easily moved & you might snag a late #1 or early #2 from a team in need.

Yes , when you look at it in the context of Wood , Sengun , Garuba its questionable .... but again , those questions weren't answered until draft night.

    Got a link for this?

Because Wood was willing to play the 4 in 2 big lineup does not mean he lobbied for it.

The 2 big lineup was introduced when Olynyk was acquired and Theis is no Olynyk.

I preached patience when Theis was signed because I thought he was signed to back up Wood or even play the 4 in a 2 big lineup.

The problem was not Theis but how Silas decided to use Wood because of Theis signing.

Moving Wood away from the 5 where he averaged 20/10 was stupidity in the extreme. And unlike with Olynyk, the 2 big lineup also destroyed spacing.

You could see from day 1 that Wood struggled at the 4, not just scoring but it also hampered ability to rebound, rim protect and switch.

Both Stone and Silas should have realized this immediately.

Gotta give it to you man. When you like a player, you like a player. Not even half way through their rookie and you are 100 percent that taking green over mobley was a mistake. Atleast this distracts you from Aaron Gordon lol.

Let's hang out during mobleys hall of fame induction where Hakeem olajuwon will make a rousing speech saying how he wished he was as good as mobley.

It was a statement by Stone that Wood preferred to play the 4 when they announced the signing of Theis and that they did this to allow him to do just that.

Theis wasn't their big FA acquisition so he could be a backup .... even if it has worked out that way.

Could say same about all of you.

Just admit most of you suck at talent evaluation.

That makes zero sense considering we have multiple sources from Wood's own mouth when he was signed that his best position was at the 5.

    Has Wood substantiated Stone's assertion???

And why is the player dictating which role he plays on the team anyway?

    That's Silas fookin job.

Last year, prior to his implosion, would have been the time to make the deal for Simmons. He wouldn't have the baggage he has now, and so the Rockets could have made a good follow-up trade, like the Wizards did with Westbrook.

Dealing for Simmons now doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

    Ditto.

I still think Simmons is the best big at PF to put next to Wood at center.

    Agreed.

And his playmaking would help KPJ when he gets jammed.

His elite defense would not hurt either.

No. We just saw how bad the offense is with a non-shooter in Theis (and current non-shooter in Green) on the court, and you want a dude who will never provide spacing on that end?
