Everything is going according to plan. Rich Paul was so stupid not having Ben with the Sixers from the start. This was always going down this way. Usually this works with no effect on the player because they can..well..play...as in shoot and score and go back to business once traded. This is the one time that although it will work eventually I think this will have a lasting negative impact on Simmons. Teams see him as selfish, destructive and mentally weak in addition to not being able to shoot. I am sure that does nothing good for his overall value.

Just his mentality I don’t want anywhere near these players.

Morey will let up, this is him playing hardball. Everyone bought it. He won’t wait long to trade Simmons, just watch.

Sixers FO/ownership seem like they are on board to wait until mid season deadline to see what shakes out.

I am 100% confident that anyone speaking confidently on this issue is fooling themselves.

The more I see the Rockets lineup, the more I'm seeing Ben Simmons could possibly be the missing piece. Simmons brings exactly what they are missing; a ball handler and a 6'10 defender.

Turnovers killed us and the fact that we have no one who can guard players 6'8 - 6'10. Tatum killed us last night, same for Minnesota wing players that killed us as well.

Simmons would give us some many options. With Simmons, Wood, Green, KPJ and KMJ, that would be a very good mix.

I put KMJ because I think it would take a trade of Wall, Tate and a #1 pick to get Simmons

The real question is if Patrick Fertitta likes Simmons or not.

Missing piece to what? Championship team? 5 more wins a season? Headaches? Locked up salary for potential free agent signings in 2023?

People who want to get Simmons keep focusing on his talent and ignoring his greatest weakness. His greatest weakness is not his shooting. It's in his head, which is much more difficult to fix. (And no, John Lucas is not a mental magician.)

I didn't look at the aspect of his mental state of mind, however having Lucas here seems all the more that Houston is a real possibility.

People forget, Simmons had an All-Star season last yr until the playoffs. Does one bad series determine a player? Hell naw. A LOT OF PLAYERS HAVE HAD BAD SERIES....Just ask Harden!

I think he was expecting his teammates to have his back, instead they turned their backs when he needed them the most.

No, they didn't forget. In fact, they're reminded all of the time. Some juice isn't worth the squeeze. Simmons' juice isn't worth the squeeze

This team could use Ben Simmons but the reality is that he doesn't fit their timeline. If Jalen/Sengun were in year 2 or 3 then I'd take the flyer easily. This team desperately needs a PG who can defend and has size. We weren't competing this year so it doesn't really matter. Let's give KPJ the year to see if he can handle this PG stuff (looking more like Josh Christopher than James Harden right now) and go from there.
