If we listened to the fans we'd have traded Watt for Matt Ryan and Clowney for Blake Bortles. I'm glad we don't listen to fans.
I disagree, our team performed relatively the same without Watt this year compared to with him last year.
Because other players got better. Clowney, Bouye, mickinney Ryan has only gotten past the first round once and is 1-4 in the playoffs
Ryan might be MVP this season. So I'd still trade Watt for him. Watt had a monster season previously and didn't win MVP. Ryan is also more durable and as a QB can play into his late 30s. JJ Watt may or may not be the same.
Exactly, other players are able to step up and fill the void of losing JJ, on the other hand we have no solution in sight for the gaping hole this team has at the most important position on the field.
Why do you trailer-trash post stupid threads like this? No team will trade a not-old top-20 starting QB for even the Defensive MVP in the league. Let alone Matt Ryan.
They have one of the best defenses in the NFL even without JJ. As I posted on another thread individual defensive players even as good as jj watt don't make that much of an impact. Pretty much any QB who is even average is more important than a defensive player.
Our D is pretty damn good w/o Watt...I imagine we'd be a better team with Ryan throwing to Hopkins and Fuller.
Why would you trade him for Scam? He'll be 28 already next season and outside of last season's outlier, he's been pretty "meh" in his career. He's arguably not even a top 20 QB this season statistically.
Why can't we draft one and develop a QB? Why must we poach other people's backups or have to trade our best player for another QB? I want a good OC at least or someone in charge of QB development to be hired for this organization. Breer said Jags, Rams, and 9ers have reached out to Josh McDaniels and Sean Payton is open to a trade
