Hill is a very replaceable player. I'd give his minutes to Patterson in a second.

Oden, while ridiculously fragile, could finally turn it around and be a superstar. Before his injury last year, he was a legit low post option as well as fantastic rebounder/shot blocker. That's amazingly rare. He's a Dr. John Patterson (McGrady's witch back doctor) away from being a stud.

I would rather trade for Randy Livingston, Shaun Livingston, Danny Manning or Sidney Moncrief.

No.... we don't need more injury prone centers.

Oden missed his entire rookie year and has only played 82 games since 2007.

Hell Yeah..Whoever says Oden is useless is not being realistic.. Hill is nice but not a difference maker ...Oden is a physical presence in the middle...Think Kevin Cato with skills...The guy WILL be a perennil Allstar within 2 years....Hill will be at best a 12/7/2 sort of player...Yall are some true homers on here

Since Portland drafted him they have played 257 games.
He has played in 82 of them, and he's out indefinitely as we speak.
That's a whopping 32% of games hes been available.
By comparison Yao has played in 58% since his injuries started.
He makes Yao seem like an Iron man.

Having said that, he has been good when he plays, but given his extreme injury risk i wouldn't give up a player like hill, who has some legit upside.

Now if the blazers, were willing to take Taylor ,a 2nd Rounder, and a trade exception, then i'd do it. He's certainly worth taking a flier on.

Regardless of how injury prone Oden is, we have a weakness at center, and one extra center is a good thing. Additionally, he does some of the same things Hill does. Power Forward is our strongest position, and Hill is not irreplaceable. This would potentially be a great move.

He is NEVER on the court, what part of this don't you people get. He's got glass knees. A player cannot help when he's in a suit.

How the hell do 155 members of this site vote yes?

Aren't we tired of having so much potential only to sit out a full season?

    I am so confused.

it's an interesting question. honestly, prob not because of his injury prone self, but make no mistake..when healthy Greg is one of the most dominant big men in the game. the dude is a serious freak athelete and is really fun to watch. a true shame, i really like greg oden and hope one day he can have a steady career.

    What?!

So, you want two centers injured on payroll, locking up a space on the bench while we struggle at the postion with Miller and Hayes? Because Hill has played some center and by trading him we would be getting even weaker at that postion with Oden. There's no reason to trade Hill for Oden. NONE.

Absolutely. Oden has shown greatness in games he has actually played. To me its totally worth the risk.

Risk? That makes it sound like there is actually some unknown element here. He has only played in 1/3rd of the games he's been eligible for in his entire career, and there's no reason to believe it will be any better in the future.

At least with Yao, you can hang on the hope that re-engineering the way his foot works will yield a different result. With Oden, you don't even have that.

There's no risk -- it's a guarantee that he will be injured for more than half of his future games.
