No, but not due to ability, no because of age.

Just Harden? In a heartbeat. We'd be championship favorites for at least another five years. Bird in hand is better than two in the bush, any day.

no brainer yes! At worst Wade's contract is off the books and you can go for Melo.

No, because Harden is our baby superstar and Howard decided to come here

Wade's opting out after this year though. So is Melo and everyone else that can to make more money.

LOL of course you don't do the trade, Harden's locked up for 5 years, Dwight's locked up for 3 years. LBJ's a free agent either next year or the year after, so anybody who trades them for LBJ has no idea what they're talking about.

If you could get LBJ to commit to signing a 5 year conract after his current expires then yes you do it, LBJ's better than Dwifht and Harden combined.

Contract situations aside, yeah. You get the best player in the game and if you find humor in the over the top Lin fans hating the coach because Lin isn't "allowed to be the PG" just imagine the hilarity that would ensue with the best distributing non PG in the NBA on our team. If they thought Lin didn't get his fair share of the playmaking duties now, they would be praying for Lin to be shipped out even more than they do now.

I bet Morey would do it because anytime you have a chance to get the game's best player you take it!

There have been nearly four pages of posts with nobody bringing up Lin except in the context of who would be left after the trade. You are the first one to bring it up, and are only doing so deride nonexistent fans that have yet to make an actual appearance in this thread.

You are literally bringing up your own straw man in this thread so that you can take him down and show everyone what a great internet warrior you are.

If you think it's sad that there are people who are fanatics about a particular player, I think it's even more sad that you hate these hypothetical people so much that you have to bring them up in every single conversation just to talk smack about them. And, if you really think that the Lin fans in your head are causing so many problems, then your approach to getting rid of them doesn't seem to be a particularly constructive one.

Are you really asking me if I would give MOREY a chance to build around the best and most versatile player in the league, who happens to only be 28? I'm sure Morey would trade the entire team for LeBron and capspace.

I would trade Howard, Harden and the Toyota Center for James. He is that good.

Contract status says "No". LeBron would likely leave in the offseason, so we'd only have one shot at a title, and historically the odds are bad of winning the title in just 1 year even if you have the best team in the NBA.

Harden and Howard are locked up, we have at least 3 years to take shots at winning it all, and probably more if things go well.

However, if LeBron promised to re-up with us then of course you would make the trade.

He would not promise that though and there's at least a 60% chance he would leave.

Also, I don't think Miami would ever make this trade either. This is one of those situations where neither team is looking for a deal like this.
