Yikes you may not want to look at the defensive team ratings for the year.

Quite the Opposite. . . .every thing he did helped the Franchise

You think 3 yrs of Harden, Cousins and Wall would have made us contenders?

....and yet he's never won no matter what team is put around him...how many HOFers need to be around him for teams to win despite him?

He's a franchise cancer that has quit on and forced his way out of the last 3 teams he's been on in as destructive a manner as possible.

If the goal is "making the playoffs", he's your guy. If the goal is winning a championship, it's best to pass.

Harden was ready to be carried, there was nothing that was going to make the Rockets contenders unless the were able to pick up several players better than Harden.

The reason he forced his way out of Houston was because he was tired of being the guy forced to do all of the heavy lifting and he wanted KD and Kyrie to carry him to a championship....when they weren't able to, he blew that team up like he blew up the team in Houston in the hopes that Embiid could carry him to a championship.....when he wasn't able to, he blew tha tteam up like he blew up the Nets and Rockets with the hopes that Kawhi and Paul George could carry him. to a championship.

It's about time for him to sabotage another team and look for someone else to carry him.

Agree 1000%. Plus once he and Daryl had done all they could to paint this franchise into a no-win corner, they bailed on the organization and the city.

Hypothetically, if we didn't have any ways to improve the team, sure, why not? He can shoot. He can create. We'll lose a bit of defense, but I'm not worried about chemistry or egos at this stage of Harden's career. 2-3 years ago I wouldn't have said the same.

Harden only makes $36m next year and FVV is owed $45m. Save $9m and get a historically better player. Seems like a no brainer if there aren't other options. I wouldn't risk other pieces for him, but a straight up trade -- heck yah. We would be in the conference finals without a doubt. Maybe contender, but it's the playoffs that the young guys need to experience before they can be expected to go far with a veteran star like Harden.

But compete this year in the first maybe even second round, and they'll have that experience needed to go further the following year. I wouldn't want to invest in Harden beyond next year.

Exactly. It's like OP is trapping people to vote without disclosing the terms in the poll.

If you have to get rid of other assets, then it's not a straight up trade. If we pick up FVV's option, he'll be making 8.5M more than Harden and both contracts will end at the end of 25-26.

The only decisive factor for me to prefer FVV over Harden at the time of signing was the assumption that Harden would demand a full length max. The length was what I didn't like. Now that Harden has signed a shorter contract, I'm fine with trading them straight up with the condition that we don't give Harden any large contract after the current one expires.

harden too stupid to play with sengun

we lost to the dubs multiple times because he kept insisting we run capela out there and draymond just dominated him

he wouldn't let us run 5 out with a shooter at the 5

wanted his little pacifier lob threat

capela got smoked every time we played them

It would be entertaining or ulcer inducing. Probably both.
Hey, don't we have that now?

Harden is a better player and might help the team win a few more games. But, I don't think it will be a move that wins us an extra playoff series. And, he's already pretty old. You only make a move like that for a guy his age if you think you can win it all that year.

It just wouldn't be worth bothering to do. Now, if the Rockets make some other key move and he's the missing piece, sure. But right now, this team is far away from where they need to be to contend for a championship.

Trade Brooks and stuff for KD. Collude for Harden to opt out. Sign Harden and Lopez.

    FVV/Harden
    Green/Harden
    Amen/Tari
    KD/Jabari
    Sengun/Jabari/Lopez

The Argument for KD is the same as Harden

Neither should stay longer than 2 yrs

Harden would stifle Amen's development. FVV shouldn't be back unless he agrees to a bench role. Is Harden better than FVV, of course, but he would never accept a bench role. If we are building a contender, the proper way to do it is to build around Amen which means loading up on 3&D players, not iso only players.
