    No, No, No.
I hate this pure point guard BS. There have been maybe 5 hall of fame point guards in the NBA, Bob Cousy and John Stockton are all that come to mind. Do you think Magic Johnson was a pure pg, or that "Pistol" Pete Maravich always had a pass-first mentality? Steve is one of those special players and it's quickly becoming known that when he takes the court anything can happen.

There has never been a player in the HISTORY of the Rockets franchise that has amassed over 40 points and 10 assists. But I guess that doesn't fit your typical pg mold, so why don't we trade him for a less exciting player who might pass a little more.

I would like to see BRAND in a Rox uniform. Not for Griffin or Francis though!WE need to keep them because thet are two of the three main building blocks! We can trade almost everone else.

OKAY. Sorry for replying once again. Andre Miller is a great player, but Steve Francis is a better player. He is more exciting and more popular. He is also more athletic and is just better. But Andre is also a good player.

Now Eddie Griffin is going to stay with the Rockets. I don't think he will be leaving unless he wants like 7 million a year.

But if we had ELTON BRAND...man that would be awesome.

Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, James Posey, Elton Brand, and Yao Ming. Whooo...

Moochie Norris/Tito Maddox, Juaquin Hawkins/Oscar Torres (YES!), Glen Rice/Bostjan Nachbar, Eddie Griffin/Maurice Taylor/Terence Morris, and Kelvin Cato along with Jason Collier would make a very good team.

Maybe we can sign him next year...lol

How about Mobley/Griffin/2 future #1 picks for Brand/Miller?

    C: Yao/Cato
    PF: Brand/Taylor
    SF: Posey/Nachbar
    SG: Francis/Hawkins
    PG: Miller/Moochie

How many rings could that team win?

This topic was made at a bad time. One should wait until Steve has one of those games with terrible shooting, tons of turnovers, and few assists before making a trade scenario like this.

When I first saw this, my first reaction was HELL NO! But I don't think it's that lopsided. Miller of last year is probably more of his true self than this year with the Clippers. And Brand is an All-Star caliber PF. It's just unfortunate that there are so many good PFs out there. Steve is an All-Star, and Griffin may or may not ever live up to his potential. Talent-wise, I think this is probably a wash. And trading Steve might be beneficial to Mobley, since they play in similar ways. It will also make the Rockets offense geared towards the inside-out game instead of the 'streetball' that people have been criticizing.

I still wouldn't make the trade though, because of the contract situation and because I'm still hoping Griffin can actually become the player I thought he would be when we drafted him.

I really like hottoddie's suggestion of Mobley/Griffin + #1's for Brand/Miller. Clips might be desparate given Brand, Miller, Candi and Odom are all unrestricted FA's this summer. It will be difficult to convince all four to stay. Mobley and Griffin would be locked up for a few more years which benefits the Clips and the Rockets could move Stevie to SF position where he is better suited. Miller would do a better job of getting Yao involved in the offense and Francis would be a much better team player at the SF than Mobley.

Please tell me you don't want Steve Francis at the small forward position.

Your right jason, SF was a typo. Should have been SG. This damn thing won't let me do edits.

    What's your problem Sir A-Hole

Only Kandi is an unrestricted free agent. He doesn't want to be a Clipper and the Clippers don't really want him here, so he's as good as gone. The other guys are restricted. Nobody knows what Sterling will do, since he's never really been in a situation where another team has made a high contract offer to a restricted free agent of his. Brand will certainly get near-max offers. Odom and Miller will get good offers. Not sure about Maggette, 'tho he might actually be the best Clipper when all's said and done. I figure if Sterling can keep three of those four, then he's done a good job. The Clipper players better start working their end of the deal and winning some ball games, though, or they'll have less leverage when contract time is up.

The Mobley+Griffin <--> Brand+Miller proposal is ridiculous. Griffin isn't in the same league as Brand, not even close. Hard to compare Miller and Mobley, but I think most non-Clipper/non-Rocket fans would probably say Miller is better. At the very least, the Clippers could entertain better offers. I do think Mobley would be a great fit with the Clippers, though, since they desperately need shooters. Maybe they could swing a deal for some of their "raw" talent, like Wilcox and/or Dooling and/or Wang.
