If you're tallking about a guy who strictly fits the system, I would go with Bibby. He's the best spot up shooter of the bunch. I still would want more than just him, although he is having a ridiculously good season.

Is Bibby more overpaid than Francis? After Francis' BYC ends I believe Francis will be making more money, yet Bibby is more productive.

I'd trade him for a few people:

    Bibby
    Marbury
    Kidd

    Payton's too old.

As for Nash, I'm 50-50 on that. Have we ever seen Nash feed a big man? He's only been succesful when given major offensive options, and generally plays a fast paced game. What is it were slowed down, would he be as effective? Francis would thrive bigtime in the Mavs system. No one clogging up the lane, so he coujld drive all day, tons of options to pass to who can score just as well as him, and a fast paced game. I think he can probably better Nash in the Mavs system, and Nash would better Francis in our system. But is it worth giving up an All Star? I'm not so sure.

Bibby is young and has a great long-range and mid range game, which is great for Yao Ming. Almost perfect. We know he can be a scorer and a passer, he was such a good passer back in his Grizzlies days. Not so sure Francis can handle the Kings' offense though.

Marbury ad Kidd are plain better and will probably alwys be better. Baron is a better passer, and I think better from long range. Much better defender as well.

For Hinrich? I wouldn't be comfortable doing it straught up, but throw in Chandler and you have a deal.

So fast it would make your head spin.

It would have a 2 pronged advantage.

It would make the Rockets MUCH better and Dallas MUCH worse.

    I like it.

Sane, I totally agree with you, Francis would thrive in Dallas's system. Can you imagine him having a free lane to drive through and having Finley and Nowitzki to kick it out to. And he would definitely be to finish at the rim more than Nash.

Its the same system that the Rockets were running in 00-01, when the Rockets finished strong.

who i would trade steve for straight up:

davis: can hit the 3 better than steve, can play much better D, and is a much better playmaker.

marbury: can shoot lights out, and is a great playmaker. most importantly...he already got "it"

nash: one of the best shooters in the nba, and the second most creative PG behind kidd.

iverson: believe it or not he is a good playmaker, its not his fault they need him to score 30 a game. check out his asts. he is also a great defender.

Put down the crack pipe and slowly walk away.

They finished STRONG in 00-01 because Hakeem was playing well.

Francis would not thrive in Dallas' system...he can't pass the darn ball, and he REFUSES to push it.

How many times have you seen Francis pass the ball on the fast break.....?

He has no clue how to set up a teamate other than the Alley oop..

    Nash > Francis

I disagree DaDa, Francis can thrive with Dallas. He can get to the with ease, and no one can deny that. Give him the green light to take his man to the rime, and make his other options Nowitzki, Finley, Jamison and Walker... I believe the Mavericks would be better after a Nash for Francis trade.

Nash is betetr in Dallas than he would be in Houston, but he's probably also be better in Houston than Francis in Houston, I'll give you that much.

    Look,

Everyone in the NBA knows that to stop Francis all you have to do is zone against him.

Can you do the same to Nash?

Francis is the most overated player in the NBA today.

    All flash and no substance.

I can not wait for him to be traded in the off season...

Iverson is a good play maker and actually has a much better shot then his FG% indicates. He's in the situation where he's left taking all the difficult shots for the team being the main scoring option, and his playmaking ability is actually pretty good. He's undersized and is not a great defender though. He plays the passing lanes well but doesn't defend his man. Instead he roams on defense trying to get steals at the expense of his defensive assignment running free. It's much easier to get steals when you don't worry about defending your man then it is actually harrassing your assignment all night with straight up man to man defense. Something AI doesn't do and couldn't do given his small stature. AI does get to the charity stripe a lot and is more mature then Francis in a lot of aspects of the game. However his offcourt antics and crybaby attitude make me dislike him as someone to trade for. Too much baggage. A legit PF would be nice in addition to a PG that can hit the outside shot and knows how to make a low post entry pass.

I'm going to have to take DaDa's back on this one. SF is one of the worst I have seen at pushing the ball up the court and running the break which is essentially what Dallas does.
