Reports that OKC made a pretty offer for #1 (SGA and #6) Would you take that deal for #2? OKC is in a good spot, but they also have way more picks than they could ever possibly use, so they pretty much have to package them to move up. https://www.detroitbadboys.com/2021...under-cade-cunningham-shai-gilgeous-alexander I would seriously consider SGA and #6 (Kuminga or Barnes?), but would fight for some our picks to be returned in addition. How about you?
If Green goes 1 I would definitely trade down. The haul for Cade would be worth it especially if you can have a little foresight into the 2022 draft and hedge this draft and next season on that. edit: Im out on SGA since he's due to make BIG money after next season.
More credible reports in the form of Lowe and Givony have straight up disputed that report. There's a lot of fake news swirling around and it's hard to filter the real from the noise. If I was given that offer for 2 I'd definitely take it but I just don't think that's realistic. Barring something amazing like that I'd just gladly take Mobley and be happy with it. I'd still love to trade up to the late lottery to grab one of the wings there though.
Absolutely. SGA is only 23 years old and a proven stud. I think it's less than 50% chance that Cade or Green will be better than SGA. You also get the 6th pick to take another swing. Barnes, Kuminga, or Bouknight are all intriguing prospects. Wood's timeline also fits SGA's a little better. Wood + SGA can get you into the playoffs IMO.
I'd trade down for Mobley or Suggs I really doubt SGA and 6 would be offered for Green. SGA is what you are hoping Green will become
I chose depends on the haul but probably. SGA is clearly better than anyone you're getting at #2 and hes young enough at 23 to still be your future down the line while still having plenty of potential. #6 is just a little added gravy. if you don't like it move it for a potentially better return later
Good point on these fake trades. Seems all that’s out there are fake proposals like the Raptors and this OKC one.
First off the rumor was apparently bogus. I still wouldn't do it for the Rockets. Cade/Green on a rookie scale for the next 4 years gives the Rox breathing room to build a team around them. SGA would be a shortcut but he is eligible for a $168 mil extension this offseason. The 6th pick is no man's land in this draft. How would the Rockets build a team after losing all their financial flexibility w/ a SGA contract not to mention they would be in no position to 'earn' another top 4 pick with him on the roster....I doubt they would sit him for half the season like OKC just did. After 2 years SGA would be screaming to be traded to a contender like every other good player that is stuck on a treadmill in the NBA. The Rox need to rebuild correctly.
Not me. I would have thought about it, if I felt Kuminga would definitely fall to 6 and that he will be a superstar. I respect your opinion.
I really want the Rockets to take Mobley and trade him to Cleveland for Green and a future 1st round pick. That's unlikely to happen, and Mobley doesn't want to come to Houston. He doesn't want to workout for Detroit either. Kevin Porter Jr doesn't play for them. Cleveland seems to have settled on Mobley, it would be nice to acquire another asset . The safest thing to do is to select and retain Jalen Green, that's what Stone should do.
If Cleveland is as dumb as I think they are (Gave us KPJ for nothing) then yes! 1. Trade #2 for #6 and SGA 2. Trade #6, #23, #24, future 1st for #3 SGA and one of Cade/Mobley/Green. Would be a great draft!!! Get’r done St-own!!! Go Rockets!!! ……. ……. …….
I don't think Barnes makes it out of the top 5 though. I'm personally not a big fan of Kuminga or Bouknight.
