Would you trade Donatas Motiejunas for Goran Dragic?

SMH that's an incredibly simple minded way of looking at it, so much that I don't really feel like spelling it out for you.

It's a real good post, but just to add two things to the risk analysis:

3. Dragic stays, and continues in his current vein of form (diminishing return as a trade chip)

4. Dragic opts out, is offered the max, and you are left wondering 'what if'

They seem to (rightly) have locked on to Bledsoe as the 'main guy' in their PG trio. Getting a big is harder than getting a small, so DMo becomes a more valuable trade chip for the future than Dragic currently is. DMo is guaranteed to be around for another year, and can be used to better 'flesh out' their roster.


It's a no-brainer for the Rockets. Load up for a title run, but don't JUST make one trade, pursue a replacement big elsewhere.

This guy is starting to seem more selfish the more I hear his destination places. He wants to win? Really? And your choices are LA Miami or The Knicks?!?!? It's obvious he's in for the money which I don't blame him but he's not about winning in my eyes

No, DMo has added value because he can fill in as the center when Dwight's out(and Dwight hasn't exactly been the picture of good health the last few years). Dmo leaves and I got a problem with giving Dorsey regular minutes. Dorsey is just not that good.

I like him, but TJones is the guy you want to trade - the kind of Carl Landry solid role player type of guy.

 

I'm thinking no. Dragic is legit, but Dmo is a legit 7 footer with post moves, 3 pt shot, and decent defense. Can't we give up something else not as crucial to our team?

 

Now that we kept DMo, what do is he doing for this team? Didn't even play in crunch time tonight. Terrence Jones outplayed him.

Even a few months of Dragic is worth 5 years of DMo.

 

I really wished we moved D-Mo for one of those PG at the deadline. Either Morey prizes him as much as some of you guys do or other teams don't put as much value in him.

 

Morey made the right call. D-Mo will be a building block of the future, especially if Dwight can't come back to form.

The knee-jerk is strong here.

 

Anyone saying we should have traded DMo for a rental of Dragic is making a bad decision.

But we still had better options out there and Morey just sat on his flexibility for Durant.

Personally, I feel you severely overrate D-Mo, but that's just my opinion. I just don't see him ever being as good as some of you believe he will become. He still gets pushed around far too easily for his size IMO and outside of his hook shot he really offers nothing at an elite level. He is also an unbelievably ****ty/passive rebounder.

 

Perhaps. But I also don't see the value in giving him up either for a guy that clearly made it known he didn't want to be here or players who were set to be RFA (Jackson or Knight) and could easily be thrown max offers we wouldn't want to match. I would've given up D-Mo for Lawson however, if that's any consolation.

He's a fantastic scorer in the post, improving on defense, solid passer, and his 3-point shot is coming along. I'm not expecting him to be an all-star but I feel like he has a great deal of potential.

 

Hard to play when the coach benches him after hitting 3 straight for 7 points in about 2 minutes.....

This. TJ didn't even played any better whatsoever, we were behind and TJ has no 3pt range with his weard arse shot.

Brewer is terrible last two months from behind the arc - 27% last month and 26.3% this.
