As you can see Simmons takes all his shots in 2-pt range.
Scores well 10 feet and in. Teams could run Pick-n-Pop from FT line in
with Simmons (as Roll-Man or Pop guy). He practically takes no
shots beyond 10 feet. That's why I have him setting screens all the
time when on the court. Just hard to do when guys have a high USG%
    like Embiid and Tobias
and Simmons has to get out of their way.

Here I will link Simmons basketball-reference.com and you can see his
shot chart. Just so happens to be where Embiid operates as well. That's
why I'm saying they can not coexist.

But how many other teams run so
much Post Up plays? Virtually only 3% of
the teams in the NBA run so much Post up.

Yes, I would love to revisit this conversation. Almost immediately after Simmons goes
to another team. I can tell you if he will have chemistry to jell with that new team.

Always a pleasure talking basketball with you. Look forward to the next time.

I like John Wall,Garrison Mathews, Simmons, Segun, Wood Lineup. Atleast it would be a turning corner. Bring Green off the bench until he can take over Mathews Spot. Lets get this project started! Houston needs Simmons!! Simmons can play pg.

Thesis, Gordon, Porter, Garuba, 2 first for Ben Simmons??

Why would Green need to take over Mathew''s spot? At this point Green is probably our 2nd to 3rd best scorer.

I dont think we have any interest in Simmons but Id think Simmons and Alp would need to be supplemented by 3 good shooters in the lineup along with them.

Remove the 2 firsts, add CWood and i'd do any combination for Simmons... primarily because he'd (1) be great at spotting Jalen, and (2) he's more valuable than those guys in any combo. Can always flip him again just for picks or whatever you want.

Not sure the 76ers would do that ...

Rockets should not be in give up picks mode, unless its for someone like Ja

In today's NBA, you can only have one non-shooter on the floor or you will have serious spacing problem.

This is why it is important for Sengun to develop a decent 3pt shot AND a very good mid range to complement his low post high post playmaking.

Yes, Simmons will be a model player/teammate. Silas will love him and effusely praise him; the players will adore him and look to him for guidance and leadership. He will make everyone forget who Wood ever was.

That or hold out the moment someone gets on him for passing a wide open 3 to drive in and then pass off a dunk over a smaller defender because he doesn't want to get laughed at on the charity stripe.

The answer is still: no. Without hesitation.

It's time to start acquiring high IQ players who can either provide mentorship, expiring contracts for free agency room, or a 5 year trajectory for the club.

Kicking the can for new and different project-veterans (Anderson, Knight, Chriss, Shumpert, Westbrook, Wall.... Simmons) is NOT a habit this franchise should continue.

Be useful (IQ, $$, or upside) or go away. Simmons is poor in the first two categories for me and questionable in the third enough that it doesn't balance at all. Add the bonus of another me-before-team headcase, and NO. No.

Philly please trade this guy so NBA fans everywhere can stop being biased by NBA 2K and find better targets to pine for.

I havent watched enough basketball over the last few years but: isnt Simmons a high IQ basketball player? I was under the impression, that his negatives are his shooting and perhaps fragile mentality - but that he does basically everything else well: creating shots for others, defense, anticipating plays and where the ball goes etc.

If we would go for him it would be with the goal to fix his mental blockade and turn him into an ok shooter. If we would manage that, he would fit this team very well. We are in dire need of a pass first PG that can defend and help out with rebounds - it just wouldn‘t also hurt to be able to hit 3s.

But for a team like the Rockets, you have to gamble to get stars - and Simmons is a gamble I would be willing to take, if we don‘t have to give up Green or Sengun for him and none of the draft picks that could go in the lottery.

Yes. Ben Simmons would take pressure off KPJ as a Point Forward, and he’s a lock down defender.

SIlas should not be part of the long term planning.

Benjamin does not make you a contender but he would make this team more watchable and potentially make the PlayOffs.
