I was thinking if Sacramento gets bounced from the playoffs again by the Lakers this season, maybe they would be willing to do a Hedo for Cato swap. They need a big body that can guard Shaq (and Duncan). Divac is getting older and his body is starting to break down. Keon is a stick. How does Hedo & Pollard for Cato sound? Rockets get a point forward that can play defense and hit the outside shot, and they get a solid backup center.
Gawd, every trade proposal on this board involves either a player from a team we just played, or Cato and Moochie for Tim Duncan...
believe it or not, Hedo is in his prime. He will not get any better, especially with the Kings. Cat is good. He is learning our offense (as the whole team learns it). Everything will be good for us. Cat will do the job. PLus, when Boki grows more, he'll be a decent player himself.
I don't see a need for a big trade this offseason. I think the Rockets will wait til midseason next year to do anything big, and that is only if the Rox are playing badly. In truth, we have a great team that could be a contender in two more seasons. The Mavs had to start somewhere and so did the Kings. The only thing that we need is more experience (in progress) and an unselfish style of play (sometimes yes, sometimes no). Players have to learn what their role in the team is. Most will and a few won't but they will be traded for better fits. I am just freaking ecstatic that it seems like we're at the beginning of another rise to the top of the league. Lets enjoy this!
why is it that after every Rox game, someone on the BBS wants a trade with the last team we just played?
Screw Turkgolu...I'd only trade Mobley for Brent Barry (I can't think of any other 2 who is very good and makes equivalent money)
So they've too many 2s and one of them has to go but then they would want Cuttino? Isn't Cuttino a 2? Eh, Kings got robbed in this trade. Both Keon and Pollard are at least as good as Cato if not better (and make less money too) not to mention Hedo.
No way is Pollard as good as Cato. And not much cheaper either, getting paid about 5-6 mil. per season compared to Cato’s 7 mil. Keon maybe, but Shaq would snap him in half. It’s not as if Hedo or Pollard have been key contributors for the Kings this season. Pollard barely gets off the bench, Hedo gets limited playing time behind Peja and Christie and averages only 6 points a game. Assuming the Kings are bounced from the playoffs a 4th straight time by the Lakers I don’t think the trade is that crazy. Cato finally gives them a true center that has the size to guard Shaq. Plus, he can get you 10-12 rebounds and 2 blocks a game if given enough playing time.
Also, it's not even a sure thing that Keon Clark even re-signs with the Kings this summer. There will be other teams able to pay much more than the Kings.
Of course this trade is completely hypothetical, as Sac doesn't need Cat, and has already gone on record as stating that they demurred on all calls at the trade deadline involving Turkoglu. I like Hedo, but if you have to trade Cat for somebody, I would look elsewhere. We might have Hedo's younger brother: name, Boki.
no way. Cat is very good for this team. I just feel this team keep everyone let them go throu together for two years they will give us a #1 team. Next year Cat will better.
