this is a tough choice. brooks has westbrook beat with his 3 point shooting by far, but westbrook is an incredibly strong and quick for a PG. his athleticism is through the roof and at times he looked better than derrick rose. in the end i'd take westbrook just because he has more potential to be a superstar than brooks.
Seems like most of this thread is talking about what they do on offense but not even mentioning the difference between the two on defense.
NO AB is WAY better at basicly everything besides is size and he can't help that ab is a better driver and FINISHER then westbrook AB'S better at the three point line and now ab's clutch and he has the jumper down and hes faster and he fits into the system better and hes a better paser soooo NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I would not take westbrooks for Aaron Brooks!!!!
This thread must be a joke, right? Why would the Rockets trade Brooks, who is the best scorer on a 42-40 team, for a real PG on a playoff team? Heck, the way Brooks is rated in Houston I wouldn't trade him for Michael Jordan in his prime!
I think we'd have more losses if we had Westbrook over Brooks this season. Those 200 3's he made were huge in our wins.
But Westbrook gets to the line so much more than Brooks. Westbrook had 422 FTA in the regular season while Brooks only had 298. He is also so much better defensively and playmaker than Brooks.
No....he doesn't do anything special. I see him as one of those good decent players....there are plenty of those in the league.

I admit that westbrook is a god player and will be a great player. He lit up the lakers. But so did AB last yr in the playoffs. We have something special in AB. He lead us this year. And took over games at the end of the yr finallu. AB is special. Thats all. But westbrook will still be great.
Amazing, Westbrook does everything better them AB minus shoot and that's not a huge difference. When Phil Jackkksssooonnnn puts Kobe on Brooks to stop him, ill reconsider...Westbrook all the way.

Stuck somewhere in between these two opinions. Westbrook has outstanding athleticism and can get to the basket with ease, while Brooks can pretty much it any shot on the court. Westbrook is also a better passer than Brooks and *cough* Francis. Though, I do not think he is as an aggressive scorer, like the other two, he can be timid at times. While, AB and *cough* SF are more apt rip teams apart. It's weird, though all 3 of those guys have had a pretty good series and outstanding regular season games against the Lakers. All of their numbers went up against the Lake show (Derek Fisher and Gary Payton for one year). Though for this team, it seems like we are more needing someone with outside shooting, given the makeup of our team. But . . . Westbrook is a combo guard with great athleticism who actually be a more balancing compliment with Kevin Martin. Toss-up
On the current team that we have. I would take Brooks anyday. We have to have 3point shooters when Yao comes back. Westbrook and Lowry play exactly the same. I think Lowry could put up the same numbers on the Thunder.
