Would you trade Battier for Rashard Lewis?

Wow...the people that continue to ride Battier's backside just amaze me beyond belief.

Battier would get (like he did in MEM) MLE $ in an open market. Rashard Lewis is borderline All Star and would command near max money.

But the "intangibles" equate their values.....wow...just wow. The glue sniffing will never end.

Outside of a few charges and the mental ability to learn Van Gundy's overly complex defensive rotations...there is nothing...let me repeat for slow readers...NOTHING Shane Battier brings to a basketball court that Rashard Lewis doesn't.

    Houston gets:
    Garnett
    Lewis

    Minny gets:
    Yao
    Howard

    Seattle gets:
    Battier
    Foye
    Sura

LOL IS THIS A SERIOUS TRADE????

Minny gets rid of the best player out of anyone getting traded (in garnett) along with the player with the most potential (foye) and in return get a slow footed center (hey I think he is great, but he needs certain players around him to make him good, and minny DOESN'T HAVE THOSE PLAYERS) and an overpaid old PF....

Yea its not bad trade for seattle and probably a steal for houston, but come on that trade would never happen..

that got us where in the playoffs????

glue is good when you have cancers. But rashard lewis can be a glue guy. Hell if Stephen Jackson can be a glue guy in GS, rashard Lewis can be a glue guy.

I would do the trade in a second. But I fear Rashard will get lots of money soon, and it will then not be worth it. But for Battier's price...in a second.

Garnett for Stoudamire proposed by the sportsguy was the best trade idea I've heard for Minny ever.

Funny because you think the Suns are stupid enough to trade Amare for Garnett? Please!

Although Garnett does have value, he doesn't have Amare type of value, sorry.

Also, I dont think anyone in their right minds will give Lewis max-money. I think alot of teams are kicking themselves in the rear for some of the long-term bloated contracts they are stuck with. I love Lewis, but he isnt worth more then 9-10 million a year starting. If we cant get him for that range, then I would be happier just keeping Battier.

We dont HAVE to trade Yao and Battier. That's the whole point. If we HAD to, because we have a losing record, then fine. But, we are coming off of a very successful regular season, so both players are proven. Remember, the Sonics nor the Wolves made the playoffs. It might be a good idea for them to change it up a bit.

    Just my 2 cents.

KG is KG. He is amazing player and he is obviously bigger star than Amare is. I would love to have Kevin here in Houston. He is amazing player who can make a game-winner who can hit a 3 who can post up and dominate the paint.

Your mind is partly on and off base! I like the Reshard Lewis for small forward but not the Yao swap for any player!! Yao is the franchise player who is expected to keep improving for at least another three seasons and is ahead of Garnett at a similiar point.
I am glad to see that you are open to trading untouchables and realise that to get something you must trade something that is desirable to help the other team. Most Fans mistakenly ignore this fact!
Possibly Yao may be the only one left when all this is over and we might see Johston and Smith of Atlanta added to the team, possibly Ron Artest of the Kings. If Seattles Lewis came I would want Ridnour with him to be the starting Playmaker Point Guard.
    My New Rockets:-
    Ridnour, V Span
    Johnston, Snyder
    Lewis, Novac
    Smith, Hayes
    Yao Ming, Cato
Tracy Mc Grady and Alston+Draft pick for Johnston & Smith of Atlanta
Battier, Howard and Head for Lewis and Ridnour of Seattle
    + New Coach of Course.

I have another option for trade. Is there any chance for Drew Gooden? I like this guy. I saw a few Cavs' games and he is really good. He is strong and he is a good rebounder. His jumpers also looks pretty nice

What do you guys think about Gooden?

    No to Gooden

    No to Ridnour

If you guys think that Alston is a bad shooter, wait till you see more of Ridnour. He cant make an open 3 to save his life! I hope he works on his jumper, because, with an added jumper he could be a real asset.

I haven't seen many of Ridnour's games so I cannot say anything about him. But why not Gooden?

I think a better question is why would Cleveland move him?

and what do we have to make a deal with Cleveland?

IMO Gooden sucks. He is much like Swift in my POV. Disappears on the court too much for a team trying to contend for a championship. Secondly, we need a stronger defender and rebounder than Gooden at that position.

    gooden averaged 11/8 this year.

that was good enough for 15th best in the league in rebounding...

I don't think he's the kind of defender we are looking for or a great fit next to yao...

but to compare him to swift...ouch

if I was gooden I would be insulted

No, I'd find a way to get him w/o trading Yao, Tracy, and Battier.

No. We don't need anyone at small forward. We need a (or upcoming) Tony Parker/Deron Williams like point guard or a Gerald Wallace/KG type power forward. Battier is fine.

I heard Lewis has always wanted to play for houston. Seems like he would fit Rick A.'s style
