Probably not because Ariza offers a lot more to the roster from a defensive standpoint and is a much younger player. But if it was multiple players that addressed areas of need at multiple positions, I could get behind that. I also wouldn't rule out acquiring Korver without dealing Ariza.
Replace Ariza with Korver and we would be the worst defensive team in the league. Not that this team would scare anybody on defense but I'd rather keep Ariza at this point. Ariza has value in a trade. Let's see what we can net for him later in the season.
We need to do this and somehow also trade Bev for Reddick. Then maybe we can sign Sauce Castillo too. We have to turn into the no defense skid, not keep trying to hang on to a few try hards that are just going to see the ball passed to one of the players being "covered" by Harden or Anderson. Between the Anderson signing and the D'Antoni hire, it could not be more clear that this is going to be a bottom dwelling team on defense no matter who is playing, so you might as well go for offensive specialists. Can we bring back Thornton for cheap? Reddick/Stouskas Harden/Thornton Korver/McDaniels Ryno/Beasely DMo/Capella McDaniels, DMo, and Capella are young enough to wait for this nightmare to end and be building blocks on the other side.
Suggested this awhile ago. Ariza can't even defend these days. He's done and is playing for a pay check....
