No, Felton benefits from D'Antoni's system. He's a really good role player (if you're a pg away from contention, then yes) but other than that, I wouldn't give up a 1st rounder.
not so sure about that Derrick Rose Chris Paul Deron Williams Stephen Curry Russell Westbrook Rajon Rondo Tony Parker John Wall Steve Nash Chauncey Billups In no specific order Honorable mention: Kyle Lowry,JKidd,BDiddy,Devin Harris some are debatable well that is hellavu competition He could easily be outside of the top 10
I'm not a Felton fan. I think he thrived in New York due to the system. I think we can get almost as much production out of Ish down the road. Keep the first rounder.
My lord. Getting Felton serves no purpose on this team whatsoever. The Rockets are not even a playoff team for the foreseeable future. We have no business being a buyer!!!
Sure. Another under-sized (6-1) PG? At a postition where there are already 3 PGs? Sign me up. The Rockets can't have too many "assets".
The point here is that the Rockets have shown a commitment for both Lowry and Aaron Brooks. Not to mention a young grom in Ish Smith. Trading for Raymond Felton just wouldn't make any sense. The only player I could see there being a run at would be Mozgov. The problem right now in the NBA trading pool is that there are no easy flips. There is no guarentee you are going to be able to trade a good role player for equal or greater value. Teams are only really looking for stars, young bigs, draft picks, and expiring contracts. The Nuggets are basically in the same boat as the Rockets now. A ton of really decent role players with some young prospects but no superstar talent. They now are going to try and bundle some of those players together for an impact player from another team. Worst case scenario, draft picks. Sound familiar?
I do not buy this - I have read it repeatedly and think it's b.s. Felton played for Bernie Bickerstaff, Sam Vincent and Larry Brown in Charlotte. If he ever was affected by "a system" it was the non-system he was under with Vincent and the oppressive "system" under LB. He's been playing w/out those issues right now (in NY). This is not some argument to say that the Rockets want him or don't - it's just a response to the (incorrect) notion that he's (only been) benefiting from D'antoni's "system."

I question the basketball intelligence of anyone who says Raymond Felton is not worth a 1st rounder. That said, seeing as we have Lowry (Felton's better, IMO), Brooks, and Ish with only one first rounder to trade, I'd rather us look elsewhere.
Only on CF is Terrence Williams considered a better player than Felton, lol. Felton is easily a top 10 PG right now. But Lowry is right behind him so I still wouldn't acquire him unless it was part of a bigger deal with Nene/Gallinari or something.
Lowry and Brooks are both better than Felton. Felton can't shoot. And about the TWill argument: Just because we might have made a mistake there doesn't mean we need to waste another 1st round pick.
NO HE IS NOT!!! Rondo Westbrook Rose Parker Paul Kidd Nash Williams Curry Wall Mistake? He's the only player on the team that still has the potental to be an All-star player. Most upside on the team.
He's better than Wall, Wall is having a horrible rookie year. Granted I'd rather have Wall than Felton but RIGHT NOW Felton is better. Also Kidd is debatable.
I said "we might have". I haven't seen him play enough, I don't know. Statistically, he had a few nice games on a terrible team (although with terrible fg % and bad ft %). But he seems to be cocky and stupid, usually not a great combination. We will see.
