We probably wouldn't have to give up that much.

I am not a Rubio fan, but i gotta say, thats some pretty good maneuvering so as to accomodate each team. Very nice.

Didn't Turner have a back injury in December? What happened with that? Also, would he be playing behind Martin, or can he actually be turned into a point guard? The guy averaged 6 assists this season, but also 4.4 turnovers. Hmmm. Would we really want him playing behind Martin? I just haven't seen him much. Taking on Brand's contract would be pretty freaky, as well.

You will never see Elton Brand in a rockets uniform. It doesn't matter that you can get the second pick, Morey will never trade for another PF at 6-9 with a horrid contract when you can resign Scola for a fraction of that with similar numbers. Make that trade and you can say goodbye to any S&T chances with anyone. Brand will now be your Chris Bosh, willing to do that? Besides, having a real hard time seeing Philly getting rid of the second pick just for someone to take Brand off their hands.

    So, he is a rookie?

Now what about him is unusually bad?

    This is great.

This is outrageous. You essentially just through any chance the rockets have at winning a championship out the window.

    1. Ariza would play on this team.

    2. You have NO mobility in this roster. Brand for $56 Mil until 2013 and Iggy at (I believe) $67 Million until 2014. We shold just change our names to the Houston 76ers!

However, back to the top..I kind of like that- Which, it should be noted, is really hard for me to like a deal involving Elton Brand, but this is pretty slick.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Ariza/
    Scola/Brand/Hill
    Yao/Hayes/Cousins

It just leaves us a bit skinny at the 2/3

First lets start off by saying that we are not after Brand, were after the 2nd pick overall and the value it brings like in the scenario that I posted earlier getting a third team involved(T-Wolves) in order to get Rubio & Cousins(who are worth Brands contract IMO)

Second of all, Bosh doesn't seem like he has any plans on coming to Texas, and we're not going to base our moves on a player that we don't not even know if he wants to play here ...

Third of all, Philly has clearly come out and stated that they are willing to trade the 2nd overall pick as long as the buyer is willing to take on Brands contract (and that's is something that I'm more than willing to do!)

We are trading for the 2nd pick (or would be) not Brand. You really don't seem to value the 2nd pick. Here is a player that was recently picked #2

If someone was willing to give me him and say "But you must take Brand!" I'll say "Ummm...sure!"

No. Not for the money. There are better and smarter ways to improve the team.

Except we would be trading away 3 Small Forwards, get none back, and be left with just one on the entire roster. Not a bad proposal, overall probably needs a bit of tweaking so we have a decent backup SF on the roster.

Don''t forget the 7th pick in 2001... God, that's depressing.

Last year was his breakout year. He only missed 6 games. :p

    True...

My proposal does leave us weak at the SF position, but their many ways to come up with a decent back up, perhaps Travis Outlaw through free agency or Mike Harris through a call up from the D-League.

We could probably have Philly agree to buy out Battier, so we can resign him, but their new Coach Doug Collins seems to like high I.Q basketball players, so who knows if that would be possible...

Turner can play 3 different positions sucessfully. He did so many times in college. Maybe thats part of his appeal.

You've probably heard this by now, but you forgot to add Ariza to the final cut. Other than that, BRILLIANCE .
