No, it's simply an exhibition game. It wil take a while for these guys to get used to a new system with D12 installed. Personally, I want to see a month of regular season games before passing any sort of judgement. I think we've got a very good chance to be legitimate contenders though

nba and most sports have 2 types of fans, the ones that follow teams and the other who follows players. either one is good for the league...

I don't want to see Lin shipped out for nothing, but if it means his legions of fans leave, I am all for it. Still want to see how Lin improves and plays with this team before that however.

your edits suck. What the hell are you? the voice at the end of the matches on Street Fighter 1?

    6. There are a bunch of Asian fans all over the world who already love the Rockets

    6. They have a bunch of Asian people in Houston who like the Rockets

this one, the point why I mention HOUSTON is that you have LOF people continuously talking INCORRECTLY about the city's diversity (if you want go fish for some post about Texans and Houstonians as a homogenous cowboy culture). I know you have been out of Houston for awhile and so have I, but its got great diversity. I also specified that the Asian population in Houston were Rockets fans before any Jeremy Lins or Yao Mings showed up. Sure Htown is a flat and hot as hell town, but I can't stand to have some fake ass fans who never stepped foot in texas making false accusations about the people.

The first word in the Houston Rockets is HOUSTON. That's who the team initially represents. H-Town.

So let me get this straight, you hate it when people paint Houston with broad strokes based on interactions with a couple of people? So you return the favor by painting all Lin fans with equally broad strokes. Right, if 2 Lin fans attack Houston's diversity, then it must be all of them conspiring together thus I must lecture all of them.

    Give me a break.

LOL! From the respective postings, any smart, objective and reasonable fan can clearly see and distinguish the great difference (gulf) in intellect and sense between Sweet Lou and Tinman. The former builds, collaborates and looks forward to the future. The latter divides, incites and has his head stuck in the deep pit of the dredges of the past.

I know which poster I value more. I know whose posts I would put on my "must read" list and whose posts go onto my "garbage and forget" list. I know whose posts will give me food for thought and will make Clutchfans a better place, and whose posts are nothing more then additions to the various piles of turd we find lying around here.

Ultimately, Sweet Lou's editing of Tinman's list was awesome. I was really impressed with the improvement and tone of reasonableness he injected into it. Tinman's original list, on the other hand, appeared nothing more then the dictates of a pompous, arrogant and sanctimonious punk who thought someone died and made him judge and jury of who deserves to be a Houston Rockets fan or not.

you're too focused on me and too lazy to research the true issues.

i'm not saying all the lin fans, you are saying all the lin fans.

to me, lin fans who like the rockets are Rockets fans.

Lin fans who put Lin above the Rockets, aka, they don't care if the Rockets win or lose aren't Rockets fans.

    that's my definition.

It is your posts that lumps everyone together in a negative way. So when Lin fans read that, it comes across as you saying all of them are this way or that. You're the one bundling people together into groups you can lecture and whine about.

My suggestion to you is to correct the individual posters when they make those errors, instead of trying to make it seem like their minority opinion reflects some larger group as a whole.

I could pretend this is Sesame street and we're all happy muppets on Clutchfans, but we're not.

And you can blame it all on me, that's fine, but if you seek out the truth and go on all the other threads i'm not on, you can judge for yourself.

Remember, those are your words. I'm not judge and jury, i'm just a Clutchfan who keeps it real.

    chenjy9,

I don't know why Sweet Lou doesn't care about your opinion, but I do.

Why do you feel this way? Do you feel obligated to make these fans feel welcome?

Am I alienating you from other fans? were you offended by my Phil Collins references?

That's simply not true and you know it. There are literally 100's of your posts where you say negative things about "Lin fans" or "LOF's". Your own tag line is dedicated to provoking them

No one says you have to go out of your way to make them feel welcome, but you don't have to go out of your way to antagonize them the way you do. You not only antagonize them, but you clearly enjoy doing it.

How did I antagonize them? I'm the first person on Clutchfans to review the Lin movie, I took pictures too!

Look at my Signature, if Clutch uses that term, then I'll use it too. The leader can create all the new vocabulary he wants, he deserves it.

Are you serious? You don't see how your 20 point sermon to Lin fans antagonizes them?

Dude, I can't believe you are that blind.

If they are interested in the Rockets and keep their Lin only thoughts to themselves, then I welcome them with open arms. If they are the sort of asshats who puts Lin over the team, then I want them kicked to the curb.

Your posts do not make me feel any alienation because I know you are a Rockets fan before any individual player. I got no beef with that. Only people I got beef with are the people who put whatever player they worship ahead of the team on a forum dedicated to the Rockets TEAM.

Sweet Lou, I just wanted to post my appreciation for all your efforts to help find a common ground in an attempt to lower the amount of bickering on this message board. I believe that your Lin poll has shown that most here have reasonable view of Lin and that has helped in lowering the amount of defensive posts regarding Lin. In fact, I noticed that in this very thread that the "LOFs" haven't even bothered to respond to any of Tinman's recent posts so I think what you are doing is having some sort of effect.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure you blocked me for pointing out that you were being irrational one time.

Well, assuming he blocked me, he probably can't read this, but whatever. Anyone is free to do a google search on my posts, and tell me when I have ever been unreasonable.

You guys are so riled up by all the BS that you knee-jerk overreact over everything.

That's because they know I like Jeremy Lin AND I'm a Rockets fan
also my references to Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel confuse them.
