That's the irony. He wants to be liked and be a savior of humanity.....but buying a social media cesspool was probably one of the worst way to get there.
I hate "Twitter Blue" as a name. I keep finding myself singing songs with "blue" in the name, but with Twitter. So Baby Blue = Twitter Blue, etc.
This is crazy. Why didn’t they just use a different symbol for Twitter Blue rather than reusing that blue tick mark? Makes no sense.
It is. Because the Twitter Blue folks wouldn't want to downgrade? Whatever the case, it's crazy to me that they reuse a 'verified' indicator and removed the verification requirement.
Actually there was a different checkmark for true verification. At one point there was the blue checkmark for Twitter Blue and a white checkmark for truly verified users. MKBHD pointed this out and then Elon killed it and made everyone have the same blue checkmark. Elon is literally going out of his way to just break things.
Remember the time Steve Jobs began selling fake band accounts for 8$ on the iTunes store, got into a public argument with, among others, Stephen King and Alexandra Ocasio Cortez about it, and then it all blew up in his face and Apple went bankrupt? Yeah me neither.

If I was an influencer on Twitter, I'd pay for the blue checkmark, but it would have to come with verification. Fake accounts with checkmarks kill the whole enterprise.
I never tweeted and just went in and disabled my account. Never had a need for it before and sure don't now. One less human user among the hordes of attention whores and russian bots.
