Woh hoo! Youtube - post 2 hours video for free, get paid if it goes viral Twitter - pay $8/m to post 2 hours video, does not get paid if it goes viral Hard choices. BTW, it was 1 hr previously - bet yall didn't know that. Also, at 8gb, it's limited to FHD, so not UHD quality. Good Luck.
Take that $8 and stick to scratch offs. Your video isn't going viral. If you have a viral video on Twitter, you can get subscribers which can translate to tips and subscriptions. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Due to youtubes onslaught of ads, its the last place i watch a video.
The user subscription model may work. But it's a weird approach mixing ads revenue, Twitter Blue subscriptions, and user subscriptions. The video itself doesn't make much sense to me. It's hard to imagine creators spending money and effort to create videos for the Twitter platform solely in the hope of gaining subscriptions.
If someone is a heavy twitter user, $8 a month is not that much. Why would anyone support this site when the operator is running most of his content through Twitter? I am not sure why you're trying to shame anyone.
Could make sense but as a creator, I would provide only a preview video on Twitter with link to YT (or user subs) for the full video. The video still would likely need to be edited or reformatted to match the max quality differences between the two platforms.
I think of twitter as the right platform for wonks that want to influence government policy and for revolutionaries that need to coordinate mass resistance. Neither of those need to host 2-hr videos, and everyone else is probably better off on one of the many other platforms.
This is so stupidly incredible. For the low price of $8 each, a relatively small group of users can do this... via wapo
Elon Musk says X will charge users ‘a small monthly payment’ to use its service X owner Elon Musk today floated the idea that the social network formerly known as Twitter may no longer be a free site. In a live-streamed conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, Musk said the company was “moving to a small monthly payment” for the use of the X system. He suggested that such a change would be necessary to deal with the problem of bots on the platform. “It’s the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots,” explained Musk. “Because a bot costs a fraction of a penny — call it a tenth of a penny — but even if it has to pay…a few dollars or something, the effective cost of bots is very high,” he said. Plus, every time a bot creator wanted to make another bot, they would need another new payment method. Musk didn’t say what the new subscription payment would cost, but described it as a “small amount of money.” Musk didn’t expand on his plan to charge for X or when such a change would come about. But since Musk took over the platform last year, the company has been pushing its users to subscribe to its paid subscription product, X Premium (previously Twitter Blue). This $8 per month or $84 per year subscription service offers a variety of features like the ability to edit posts, half the ad load, prioritized rankings in search and conversations, the ability to write longer posts, and more.
X is going down the toilet, that's for sure. This is how you muck up a company, make enough dumb changes that eventually users will go somewhere else.
