Anderson - Lock to stay with Denver Wilcox - LOL He sucks Rasheed - Selfish piece of garbage, who is a complete waste of talent O'Neal - As washed up as T-Mac Zaza - Staying with Atlanta, even if he doesn't, he would have better offers than ours.
Nothing wrong with Zaza, I'm from Atlanta. And, he is actually a decent center, he could start on a good number of teams. He'd be perfect with Yao, especially if Yao misses some time or needs reduced minutes. Plus, Zaza is a real center and still fairly young.
This should be priority number 1. They looked like a bunch of midgets out there with the fakers throwing the ball right over our heads.
I'm not so sure, because point guard is up there, too. As good as Aaron Brooks is, can he be legitimate passing point guard with better decision making skills, do we see if it might be Lowry, or do we see what is out there on the market? We could always draft someone who might be a fairly decent NBA center or dream Mutombo comes back, next year. I don't think finding (an-ok) center/power forward who is at least 6,10 plus will be as hard as people think. The point guard issue is where the problems might be over the long haul of the season.
No!! The back up Cener this time must be one who isn't past it!! Yao will play a lesser role, so the back up must have offensive and defensive possibilities
Theo Ratliff is no Chuck Hayes on offense either. He can dunk the ball, tip the ball in, and dominate the glass as well. However, his post defense is very questionable. I saw Dwight Howard make hook shot after hook shot on this guy's face, and when Dwight Howard a guy with that skill level is making hook shots in your face, that would mean you are either only average at post defense or below average. Theo is very similar to Marcus Camby defensively. He's a heck of a shot blocker, dominates the glass on both ends, but he's only average at man to man defense. It's probably because he's clearly declining at this point of his career and also because he's not as strong as most centers are today anymore.
My preference would be the highly unlikely Chris Anderson. I'd love to see him coming in with our second unit but the Lowry alley oops to the Birdman might remain a dream. As much money Yao brings in to the Rockets, I don't know why Les won't go over the cap. I'm not saying spend like the Knicks but he should be a bit more flexible.
Shouldve signed him last summer. Another option would be petro or a trade for S. Williams for Barry. Its not like barry will play for houston or williams for jersey.
He's always been a great shot blocker, once averaged 4 BPG and often times in his prime averaged 3 BPG. He's a very good rebounder too. Let's get Theo.
I would too, guy knows how to play D. He is a younger, shorter DEKE. He is injury prone, but hell won't demand any huge contract.
No...trade 37 yr old Barry and his expiring contract for Sean Williams from NJ. I don't care about his problems. He would be a good fit here. A cheap, young, and legit 6'10" player that is athletic with long arms, good shot blocker, above average rebounder, finishes with authority, and can play behind or alongside Yao.
I'd rather get Kwame Brown. A solid post defender, can rebound, can defend the paint and block shots as well. However, I think Kwame might be looking for the green more than the hardware. So I think Theo might be the most realistic center out there, possibly Marcus Camby, but......
I think this team needs someone who can be productive as a starter and off the bench. I really like Zaza for this role. He seems to be very productive off the bench. He gets to the line 3 times in 19 minutes, which is great. He shot 49% this last season and over the last 3 seasons he has been grabbing 10 boards per 40 minutes (which I consider a good rebounder). I would go after him with full MLE if we had to. Other than re-signing our current squad, we don't need anything else. This team could go all the way and anything T-Mac might bring is a bonus: Yao/Zaza/Dorsey Scola/Landry/Hayes Battier/Artest Artest/Wafer/Barry/White Brooks/Lowry
