JVG :Cares too much and uses every minute to plan something. Rick: Couldn't care less. Probably made the game plan up on the spot.
i never wanted JVG to leave.......i mean come on......people were upset at him cause he was "holding yao back" by not letting him jack up 18 footers.....
the only guy available who might be interested and fits the role of a vocal leader who carries a big stick and preach defense is the little general avery johnson aint he a former rocket too? i think he would be as good as jvg, since we ALL know jvg wont be back
JVG played Chuck Hayes and Head as rookies. Where does he get the rep that he doesn't play young players?
NOT TRUE. If Les Alexander can suk up and man up and admit to his fault, JVG will be back. But the most likely scenario is Les will have too much pride to ask a guy he exiled to come back. Nothing is impossible. Zen master and kobe had a fallout. what happened now. Phil also has a fall out with buss. Phil is bak to Fakerland after what? two years. BRING BACK JVG please LESLIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that saying this solves anything, yes. JVG was a stubborn, pain-in-the-ass type of coach but he at least gave this group an identity: tough defense and dominance on the boards. It helped keep the scores low. Essentially, it helped keep us legitimate. Sure, everybody soured on the oh-so-predictable "feed Yao, wait for kick outs" approach. I know I did. I never understood why it wasn't possible to incorporate that type of inside-outside offense with a motion type offense for the other guys to get lanes to the basket and other looks. This is where Adelman was supposed to flex his muscles and at times he has. What Adelman did last year was very admirable. The 22-wins really made you feel like you were witnessing something special and the 55-overall wins were incredible considering the circumstances. All the same, right now he is royally butchering a silver platter type of coaching job. He's soon going to approach the point where the players quit on him if things don't change. We're getting outrebounded, outmuscled and outplayed. Even when we do something right we're getting the ball ripped out of our hands, stupid TO's, good shots that don't go in, good defense that results in a basket, whatever! We're in a funk right now. We've lost some close games on top of that. A large part of this rests on coaching and i'm sure Adelman knows this. I don't know what his plan is: whether to let the players figure this out themselves or what. He needs to start making adjustments and holding the players accountable...as well as himself. So again, to answer the question: I would probably rather have JVG with this group, however I recognize Adelman's strengths and when this team is 100% and "clicking" he's the type of coach that can help make this group take off. I just miss JVG's ugly style of basketball that gave us the identity we had and made teams fear playing us. I still have confidence in Adelman though. Just please don't prove me wrong!
