How will you pass on it? By matching Parsons? Okay. Beverley/Nelson/Canaan Harden/Johnson Parsons/Garcia/(league minimum) Bosh/Jones/Covington Howard/Aldrich That's 81 million in salary Good luck with that bench, and being at the ABSOLUTE hard cap. I think i'll sacrifice at the backup SF spot a little take Tucker, Hamilton, Garcia rotation to have be able sign a decent bench.

The more I think about it, if they do get Bosh, having 4 guys on max contracts just doesn't make any sense. Especially if you have to completely gut the rest of your roster to pull it off.
It's wasted cap space. This has been beaten to death. Parsons will be in Houston for 2 years and is likely a goner after that. Winning is the #1 priority to retain Dwight.
if we don't we're essentially losing parsons asik and lin to sign bosh, and be right at the salary cap
Dirk took a $16M pay cut in 2010 just so Mark Cuban can sign Brendan Haywood to a gargantuan contract. That's the same Brendan Haywood who is still receiving an amnesty paycheck from Cuban that is hilariously bigger than Dirk's actual salary this year. So, uhm, this Chandler Parsons thing is practically a bargain for Dirk. You see people? This is what happens when an athlete doesn't hire a sports agent to represent him in contract negotiations.
I don't really want to pay Parsons 15 million, but whats our back-up option if we get Bosh? The most we'll have to sign someone is the MLE isn't it? and with the contracts everyone seems to be getting this off-season, I'm not sure that'll get us much
y'all are grossly overvaluing pj tucker. there's a reason he didn't play in the NBA for a while. deng is 28 with a lot of miles on him. ariza is KNOWN to have his production plummet after he gets a contract. remember last time we signed him?
Match have trade piece later for a trade..if all else fails..dont give Parsons away..its a 3 year deal some team will bite later..not our money..
one season shooting 39% isn't enough for me. too small a sample. he has a very limited offensive game. all he has on parsons is that he's a better defender. he's also a head case, so there's that.
it'll be similar to the Lin situation - a decent player is being overpaid and the team has to give up a valuable asset to get him off the books. Except it will be MUCH worse as 1) Parson's $15+ mil will count against the cap (unlike Lin's) and 2) the 3rd year is a player option which is a no-win for the team. If he's not playing up to his contract, they have to overpay for the 3rd year. If he is playing up to his contract, he can OP out and ask for his new max which will be higher. The deal was also reported to include a "hefty trade kicker" (still just a rumour now) which will further handcuff us. Cuban designed the contract to include all the things Morey hates. If we do match - Harden, Howard, and Parsons are our Big 3 for the next 3 years. We may be able to resign our own players with Bird Rights but we aren't trading for or signing any new talent in Free Agency.
so you wouldn't want a core of harden parsons bosh and howard for the next 4 years? how much better of a core group could we construct? and please don't mention kevin love, the warriors and cavs have better packages to offer him.
If we get KJ McD from Philadelphia, we might have a genuine stopper. For cheap. If that happens, Morey might just decide to decline CP.
I am betting better than when we have not signed Bosh to anything, we lose Parsons, and Bosh signs with the Heat. The first thing Cuban will do if Rockets do not match Parsons is text/call Howard to let him know he should have picked the Mavericks.
How do we a sign and trade once we've used up some of our cap room? Just letting you know this scenario is not possible.
