In respone to everything you said:

    HOLY **** ! !

I will never post here again.

TH & Mrs. JB agree on something other than Morris Day & The Time was the **** ;)

On a serious note, I agree 100%. Just throw her up against the best player she would likely struggle in the first match, but put her in a tourney like Annika, and she would win some matches, and its quite conceivable that Agassi or Federer (ATP #2 ranked player) lose a match thus she would have that much more of a chance to play a second tier guy.

To be perfectly honest, Annika only faced 2 of the top 10 men (David Toms was the 3rd but had to withdraw). If you put Serena in a regular tourney like the Colonial is to golf, and Guillermo Coria & Gustavo Kuerten, ranked 5 & 10 just as Mickelson (who has big enough breasts to play with the women) and Furyk are in golf, Serena would stand a chance.

    Annika never had a chance.

A couple-- I don't think so----I bet he was almost legally drunk when he went out there to play. :)

The women just hit too flat, the men hit harder with more topspin that would be unstoppable. I could picture a scenario where the men just hit 2nd (kick) serves to the women and they would boot them all over the stadium (or at least out).

After watching Serena semi-struggle against Ai Sugiyama from Japan, I think alot of guys in the local pro-shop would beat her----easily.

I would think that even today, McEnroe could beat Braasch. I think Mac has gone on record as saying he would beat Serena 6-0. 6-0. Serena should step up to the plate.

Most probably, McEnroe could beat Braasch, simply because his overall talent level is so much higher that even at an older age, he is just better (Braasch might be retired and drunk every day now anyway). However, I don't really think he would beat Serena 6-0, 6-0, because a lot of what makes the difference between women's and men's tennis is the superior athleticism of the men. Serena is at the peak of her athleticism, whereas McEnroe could probably not seriously compete with the current top 300 on the men's tour. He'd probably win 6-3, 6-3 or so against Serena, if he is healthy. No serious doubt in my mind that he would win, though.

Coincidentally, I spoke to the former coach of the Danish national team tonight (who played ATP Challenger tournaments himself and who has been a professional tennis coach for about 15 years). He confirmed that Serena would not have a chance against a top 500 guy. The speed of women's and men's tennis is just too different. He said you don't really see it unless you see it in person (preferably from the other side of the net).

Being from Germany I would think that you would have heard his comments on Graf when they played mixed doubles together. Again----he stated that she would beat him one on one. Mac playing Serena would be a modern day Riggs vs. BJK, Serena would beat Mac without a doubt.

That's what men tend to do when they speak about women - they make compliments. He was just being a cavalier. He would always beat her easily. Also, he wasn't quite as happy about her when she quit on him after they reached the semifinals. He probably would not have made that comment after that happened...

Maybe he was kidding around in front of everyone?

Oh yeah, I heard from somewhere that there were rules on Riggs like he can only serve once, ect...Is that true?

Good point, i've been looking for a link where I could post what he said, but I can't find anything. I heard him say it in an interview during the tourney, he was probable just being polite. Watching them play though it was clear to me that she hit with much more power. Maybe this would be an excellent charity match with Mac & Serena involved it certainly would generate alot of talk. I'll make some calls and see what I can do about setting this up----;) :)

So could some of my fellow UT fans.;)

The point most people are missning is specifically in America, the men's tennis game needs the publicity of a male playing Serena. With Anika, the LPGA would have benifited if Anika had done better. There is no reason for Serena to ever consider playing a male.

Well it is official Serena should not attempt to play against the men. Whiner

Sobbing Serena Accuses Henin of Lying
    By Bill Barclay

PARIS (Reuters) - A sobbing Serena Williams accused her Belgian conqueror Justine Henin-Hardenne of "lying and fabricating" during their ill-tempered French Open semi-final on Thursday.
Wiping away tears the beaten champion also said she agreed with her mother Oracene, who told an American journalist that the French crowd's hostile behavior showed a lack of class and an ignorance of tennis etiquette.
Williams was angry that Henin-Hardenne did not intervene when the umpire mistakenly refused the American the right to replay her first serve at 4-2, 30-0 in the third set of the 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 defeat.
"I was a little disappointed with her," the world number one said. "It wasn't the turning point of the match, I should have still won the game, but to start lying and fabricating is not fair.
"People want to win these days but this is just a tournament and I'm looking forward to next time already."
Williams broke down in tears several times during her post-match news conference when asked about the behavior of the Parisian crowd, some of whom cheered when she missed serves and booed her throughout.
"I'm not used to crying, I'm sorry," she said, wiping tears from her eyes, her voice choked with emotion.
"I was really upset when they booed me. It was just a tough crowd out there today, really very tough. It's the story of my life. It's a little difficult. All my life I have had to fight.
"It's just another fight I'm going to have to learn to win, that's all. I've just got to keep smiling. It was hard. She started out really strong and from the first point they were all over her to do well.
"It was hard to get into a rhythm. Once they got started it was hard to make them stop."
    RIDICULOUS THINGS
Williams, whose defeat ended her run of four straight grand slam triumphs, struggled to compose herself as she tried to explain why she thought the crowd had targeted her.
"It's bad when people start booing in between serves. Other people were egging them on by doing ridiculous things. I didn't question any calls.
"She played very well today and probably deserved to win. She was the better player today. But it gets rather annoying if your not serving well anyway and you miss your first serve and everybody's booing and screaming.
"I've got to be stronger next time," she added. "I don't think being a American right now had anything to do with it. I don't think what is going on between France and America right now had much to do with it.
"I think sometimes you just want the underdog to win.
"Do I feel under-appreciated? I think all champions are. Martina Navratilova was at the top, no-one appreciated her until she retired. Steffi Graf (news) as well I think.
"I think it's just something the greatest have to live with, and I'm really okay with that role."

I agree that the crowd was really out of hand near the end of the match (at least by tennis standards). However, Serena lost this match fair and square -- Justine just outplayed her. And, this is the second match Serena has lost to her this year. While Serena was groomed to be a winner, it seems she still hasn't mastered the art of losing graciously.

Wow, you rarely see a tennis crowd being overtly hostile.

Now Serena knows what it is like to be a Dixie Chick.
