I'm find myself in total agreement with Jeff. You find your players far more valuable than we find ours. No one thought we'd trade Pippen for what we did. Did they? Granted, Pippen, even then, is no McDyess, but the deals are more favourable when we propose them. Do you NOT agree that you'll have to trade McDyess for a bag of chips if he demands a trade to a certain place? I didn't say your proposal was stupid. I said you callingother people's opinions "jokes" is stupid, and hence will get you into stupid arguments.
Sane, Do you really think Nugzfan would come to this board if he didn't want to start arguements, stupid or otherwise. He's a Nuggets fan, we are Rockets fans. Arguements are inevitable. On Alonzo. We already have one guy with scary health problems(Steve). I think that is enough.
I'm not sure that anyone really cares if it bothers YOU or not. That really isn't the point. This isn't a Nuggets board with Rockets fans blasting you. It is the reverse. As a result, it makes more sense for you to come in here with kid gloves. It's not that you don't extend yourself. It's that you say it like, "Pffft, you guys are idiots." Case in point: the assumption of the rockets being the postseason next year sounds 100% crazy to non rocket fans, just to let you know...sure you wont care, but you guys sound foolish. The next year (2000-2001), the Rockets became the first team in NBA history to miss the playoffs with the number of wins they had. Yeah, crazy. In reference to Derek Anderson in June 2000: you guys dont gotta worry about the injuries or whether hell fit in. come july or so, hell be wearing a nugz uni Yeah, that was dead on. The point is you take great joy in saying "ignorant," "ridiculous," "stupid," "NEVER," etc. And then you come back and say, "You guys just don't like me because I'm a Nuggets fan." No, we don't like you because you are condecending. Being a Nuggets fan just make us think you have the life of a Cubs fan - sad and pathetic. If you don't mean the entire board, DON'T SAY IT! Then, you won't have to explain it. It sounds annoying because it is. By the way, no opinion is stupid. Opinions just ARE. Calling an opinion stupid, however, is STUPID. REALLY??? You think there are actually homers for the Rockets on a ROCKETS FAN WEBSITE??? You're kidding!!! I never would have imagined. Don't confuse the rings on our fingers with the chip on your shoulder. The problem isn't your opinion. It is the way it is delivered. The all-out denounciations of the board and the condecending "oh, that will NEVER happen" have a way of coming back and biting you on the ass. There are better ways to approach a disagreement particularly when you are in the middle of a board full of Rockets fans. Everyone knows when something is ridiculous. You pointing it out doesn't make it seem more ridiculous. It just makes you look like a troll Nuggets fan trying to poke fan at us simpletons in Houston. Don't be shocked if it pisses us off.
Pffft. Nobody talks about the Nuggets here. If it wasn't for you, we probably wouldn't even remember that Denver still has professional basketball.
He's way out of line calling people stupid in his apology. We're just talking on this board. Hardly anybody here really takes some of these ideas seriously. Nobody in here is a real GM so we have the leway to talk about impossible trades. They make us feel good, especially after a such a crappy year. If I'mNutzFan doesn't like the ideas we propose, then don't read them. Most of the trade talk is clearly listed on the thread title. If I'mNutzFan see's threads called "Willis for Shaq, "Williams and T-Mo for Vince," or "Can we resurect Wilt," it should be a clear indicator that fans are in there proposing trades that sound impossible. So just leave em alone I'mNutzFan. I bet there are some silly trade proposals going on a Nuggets board all the time.
Well said Oski2005. I get tired of "labels" of the entire board from a handful of posts. Lately NugzFan has become the single worst at it and has crossed the line. There are silly trade proposals in every team's message boards across the web. Everyone treats them as such, except him on our board. Someone once pointed out ones from a Denver board to NugzFan and he responded by saying there are not near as many there (guess that's accurate when you have just 5 regulars on their board) and implying Denver fans are so much more intelligent than Rockets fans. Riiiiight. My favorite NugzFan moment: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&postid=325865#post325865 In typical condescending fashion, he says anyone who thinks Nick Van Exel hasn't changed "on and off the court" isn't a "smart NBA fan" (a shot at me). Of course, this self-proclaimed "smart NBA fan" proved to be one naive and blind homer just 2 months later when St. Nick dropped his usual load in Denver's stocking. I tried to warn you all about him. He has a long, long history of being an ass and we are not dealing with the sharpest tool in the shed here. If you so much as mention the Nuggets in a trade proposal, he won't try to educate you -- he'll try to humiliate you for the mention. He will actually act surprised that there are Rockets fans here, all looking to better the [surprise!] Rockets. Does he have points? Sure. The Nuggets won't take on Rice's contract. Kiki "OK, another 5-year plan everyone, starting....... now. Wait.... now!" Vandeweghe and the Nuggets have to be one of the stupidest franchises in all of sports given their history, but they're more than likely not that stupid. It defeats the purpose of whatever it is they're trying to accomplish this month. But he won't talk logic -- he'll just respond with the intellectual equivalent of f--- the Rockets and f--- you. Like I said, he's just an ass who has despised the Rockets for years (I've got the emails from the mid-to-late 90's to prove that), and it shows. I think it's interesting also to note the very day he went on his rampage against anyone who proposed McDyess to the Rockets (which doesn't interest me much by the way) or said Antonio would not re-up with Denver, David Aldridge mentioned in his ESPN column that the big question this summer for the Nuggets is: "Will the Nuggets move McDyess? He has an out after next season that he will most assuredly use. Imagine his power game with a team like the Rockets or Mavs, two teams that just happen to have a surplus of players that could be moved." Yeah, I'd say putting this militant posting stiff out to pasture was long overdue.
When Clutch does that, you're obviously doing something wrong. When Clutch AND Jeff do that, there's no doubt you're out of line.
Whats with all the swelling? This is just a message board just like the many fan based boards in america. Lighten up people.
NugzFan: I am ashamed now that I took up for you in that other thread. It looks like you deserved that piling on and then some.
Fellas...just do what I did...just piss Nutzlips off to the point where he puts you on his ignore list....it worked for me. I dont have to worry about him slamming my ideas anymore.
As they say in Cameron Indoor Stadium when an opposing player fouls out... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... SEE YA
Back to the original topic, Riley stated he wanted only veterans. I would rather see us keep our 5/6 pick to get a stud SF, and then try to trade up on our 15 to get a backup 5 (Marcus/Stodamire/Borchart). Perhaps we could trade up with Miami to get their No. 10 pick. Maybe they would have interest in KT.
