I have no problem with individual citizens expressing their displeasure with the French govt. by boycotting French products, nor do I have a problem with privately owned restaurants serving "freedom fries", I would have hoped, naively of course, that the boys & girls on the Hill could voice their displeasure in a different way.
Jeff, If they use the nanny nanny boo boo defense...all bets are off, and they are no longer our ally. DD
We did the same thing with German foods like hamburgers and sauerakraut during WWI, renamed them to Liberty Steak and Libberty Cabbage. It doesn't bother me, read my sig... Screw the french!
Sonny...just for fun...let's play a game... 1) Aggressive nation which has broken treaties, invaded other nations, and declared war on us and attacked us... 2) Non-aggressive nation which has used their political power to reflect the will of it's people and take a position which disagrees with us... Ok, for 5 points...can you spot the difference?
Who is the non aggressive nation? France? Didn't they have one of the most imperialistic policies of the last century? DD
"They have the Big Mac. We have the Big Mick. Ours has two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions but they put theirs on a sesame seed bun. Our buns don't have seeds." I love movies.
"I started off in trash like you guys. Now I'm slicin' lettuce. Then you move to the fryer. With four or five years of hard work, I'll make assitant manager. That's when the real bucks pour in."
For a guy who argued me down that American slavery is ancient history, you have just proven what a hypocrite you are.
