Would you lie and benefit the enemy, if your life were at stake.

My apologies for my initial sentence about this thread not being about religion, I only considered the thread topic rather than the original post. That having been said, yeah, I would denounce agnosticism to save my life. But I acknowledge that religion means different things to different people, so they would obviously have different answers.

I guess, to hedge your bets, you could do what Peter did after he denied Christ, y'know, invent Catholicism.

I would love the terrorist even as he spits in my face and b****slaps me with the butt of his semi-automatic handgun. I would love him with all my heart and forgive him, but I would refuse to say what he wants me to say - I would refuse to lie!

Eventually, though, I would "judge" his actions harshly and strike the viper down with great vengeance.. by infecting him with painful sores, scorching him with fire, and melting his face off by dipping it into a nearby lake of burning sulphur. Now that's WJWD.

But being an immoral atheist (or thereabouts), I would probably do what it takes to live instead.. because a) I would selfishly want to protect the few who love me from mental anguish; and b) as a living being, I have a biological responsibility to preserve my own life anyway

I used to be an immoral atheist, I was so self righteous I thought I had everything figured out and I really couldn't care less about anyone else- too consumed with my own pursuit of independence.

Just wondering if things had changed any for immoral atheists.

 

Oh, totally.. sex appeal is now way, way off the charts. We still like our babies grilled and lightly breaded though

 

I have to admit I loved it when I was an atheist.
