Would you let your Sister date one of your best friends?

i've actually had a couple of friends offer me to date their sister, but i don't have a sister so i'm not sure how i'd feel.

 

I chose "LOLWTF NO"

A buddy of mine had a friend tell him that he was in love with his sister (which was weird because he didn't even really know her) and that he wanted his blessing to date her. My buddy politely said No, and in doing so saved that guy an embarrassment. He never would have had a chance. I'm told the whole conversation was painfully uncomfortable.

 

She does whatever the f**k she wants cause she's a grown as woman.

I stay out of her love life just as I would expect her to stay out of mine.

 

I'm an only child so I said yes.
Its not my life.

 

It would be an upgrade for my sister if she dated any one of my friends. She married (and divorced) probably the biggest douchebag on the planet.

 

Only if he a good person, if I know he just a douche after sex. Hell nah.

Pretty much, though in my specific case it's a bit more tricky, since most of my friends are older than myself and my sister is 10 years younger than me.

I don't have a sister, but I'm very close to my cousins who I regard as sisters, I answered "depends." For the most part, my friends are all really good guys, and very financially secure, so I wouldn't have any issues there. It would really be more from an "I don't think I'd wanna deal with any relationship problems" standpoint that I'd be hesitant. I wouldn't want to get involved, and since I'd stand to lose a lot if I chose sides, I'd be reluctant to even want them to try it out.

 

Depends on the friend, but regardless, your opinion probably doesn't matter much to your sibling. If they legitimately like your friend, or even just want to shag your friend, there's not much you can do to prevent it from happening.

 

I once got into a fight with my entire Tennis team in HS over this.

I dislike the use of the word "let" here.

All of my friends are grown adults. If I had a sister around my age or younger but still an adult (my real sister's older - in her 40s)...who am I to stand in their way? They all know how to make responsible decisions on their own...if not, they need to get to that point.

Now if I had concerns about a particular "friend" dating my sister, then I might voice my concerns...but still, it's their relationship.

Be careful about sticking your nose into other people's relationships and who they can and can't date...even if those people are family or close friends. That can easily breed resentment.

I once dated one of my friend's sisters. It was never weird. But he got oddly protective for a bit. Then it didn't matter. She was a b**** anyway. So maybe not a good example.

 

I don't have a sister... but, if I did... I imagine she'd be out of mostly everyone's league, and whether I approved or not would have little consequence... they'd likely be hard-pressed enough getting hers...
