It's different for cleveland fans. They are in a state where they are the only basketball team. Their city is the size of corpus christi or half the size of san antonio or about a quarter of the size of houston. They are a close knit "bit city" that has had no championships. LeBron is practically from their backyard and is one of the greatest basketball players to ever play and he gets drafted by their home state/city pro basketball team. He makes them into a contender and then leaves them. I would burn his jersey in a heart beat.

Wel actually I'm not sure I would burn his jersey. I would just be extremely disappointed and upset at LeBron.

It's not just Yao. I don't think any NBA player would pull a stunt like what James did tonight. Then again James is one of a kind. I guess he earned the right to be an a**hole. :)

I would have burned my yao ming jersey if he stayed but still demanded an hour long special to announce his decision and had "the Chosen one" tattooed on his back.

While the situation in Cleveland is far different than Yao in Houston, No, I wouldn't burn his jersey. He has given us his all, even when suffering from injury, you could still see him on the bench cheering us on. He's helped us be in the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years, and that could've been all 4 had injury not scarred him. And lets face it, when healthy, he's just been darn good (and consistent).I believe a true fan would not whine and be angry with him for leaving, but celebrate the successful years he has brought here to Houston.

Yes, without doubt if he handled it the way prince james did. And I'm not talking about just the style of his departure, but the whole collusion thing between those three bothers the hell out of me.

Give me character, you can have personality.

I don't have a Yao Ming jersey, but I didn't burn my David Wesley or Luther Head jerseys when they left. And I won't burn my Shane Battier or Chuck Hayes jerseys if they leave.

I would have burned my souvenir Yao Ming crutch. Then I would be happy that the Rockets got rid of a max-salary drain.

Yao isn't from the Houston area, and he is no where near the talent LeBron James is. Not to mention Yao can't finish a season. With the way everything went down, its hard to blame the Cavs fans.

Is it too early to start looking at 2015 free agency period? ;)
