Overestimating Schaub's value. I don't think you give up that high of a pick PLUS another medium to high pick just for Schaub. Maybe they would do this deal if we traded our 26th pick and a 4th rounder as well.

If he wants to come here you can't say no. You just can't pass that up.

:) More like underestimating his value if Carson "hot garbage" Plamer can be traded for 2 1st and a 2nd, Matt Schaub should be worth 3 1st.

Matt Shaub is a top 10 QB and knows Washington's system and knows Shannahan who would LOVE to have Shaub would be willing to part with a high 1st who they will likely reach and draft aTm's QB Tanneihill.

All in all Washington would rather have Schaub then Tanniehill or any other QB in this years draft not named RGIII and Andrew Luck who are out of the question.

I do my homework before posting....;)

Marshal faulk went for second rounder. NFL gms love their draft picks.

A Franchise running back is much more easily attainable then Franchise QB and hence the fact that you must give up more to attain a proven QB. Arian Foster, Priest Holmes, Clinton Portis, etc. are some examples that it is easier to get a Rb in later rounds. Tom Brady is the only ex. at QB who I can think of.

But you are right GMs do love their draft picks but QBs are an exception and history shows that.

Manning can make mediocre WR and TE elite. Imagine how many TDs AJ will have if Peyton is throwing the rock.

Prob won't happen but I'm really excited about this offseason.

Just the thought of AJ and Manning makes me shiver and this situation is ideal for both player because I think both players have about 3-4 more years left to be elite.

    i'll say it again:

sign manning (and probably wayne, if i'm wrong about that, some other wr upgrade).
sign vince young (your season is still alive if manning flames out/gets hurt).
trade schaub (get at least a 1st rounder).

I was sort of with you until the "sign vince young" part. Then I rolled on the floor laughing.

Yates is already better than VY has ever been. And Yates isn't even that good :p

By the way there is no way to sign Manning, keep Foster, and sign Wayne. Just so you know that it's impossible.

I'm with on the Vince Young part but Foster is a RFA he is not going anywhere even if we sign Williams or Manning. Texans will not let him go thats just it.

I'm just worried about Chris Myers he is very imortant to this team.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-may-be-interested-in-playing-for-the-texans/

As the calendar continues to move toward March 8, the date by which the Colts must either pay Peyton Manning $28 million or cut him loose, reports and theories continue to emerge.

Here’s the latest, from Bob Allen of KTRK-TV in Houston: “Someone I know who is close friends with the Manning family says Peyton is definitely interested in possibly coming to the Texans. Peyton will be released by the Colts early next month and will be a free agent. The person who knows the Mannings says Peyton wants to play on a team that has a chance of going to a Super Bowl, and the Texans fit that description.”

Though the Texans have a quarterback, a healthy Peyton Manning would be a clear upgrade over Matt Schaub. With that defense and that running game and those receivers, the Texans would be a championship-caliber team with Manning under center.

Before that would happen, Manning would have to be willing to put his Indianapolis legacy at risk, given that he’d be playing the Colts twice in 2012. And the Texans would have to be willing to sit Schaub down and/or send Schaub packing.

But the Texans are one of the few teams with which Manning could legitimately chase a Super Bowl in 2012. And if Peyton hopes to match Eli’s pair of Super Bowl titles, the Texans could give Peyton the best chance of getting it done in 2012.

Can you imagine the National TV games we would get next year?

    Manning vs. Rogers

    Manning vs. Brady

    Manning vs. Tebow

    Manning vs. Luck X 2

so you want to sign a QB that can't throw because of nerve damage. and then you want to sign a QB that doesn't know how to throw. AND you want to trade the QB that CAN throw? makes sense.

come on man. a healthy manning is a no-brainer. unfortunately, the only healthy manning plays for the Giants.

Marshall Faulk is in a different class of athlete than that of Foster, holmes, portis etc. He could have been a no1 over all pick. I think the raiders were just out of their mind giving up 2 no 1 for Palmer. I don't know if a team would give up two 1st for a 30 year old qb who might be the product of a system.
