That's a crutch the hobbling Rockets don't need. Absent his injury history, of course, but absent his injury history the Lakers wouldn't consider it.

Sure, combine TEs and add multiple players and get the $s high enough and, sorry, this trade cannot work. Period. No way. It is such a non-starter except, perhaps, as a filler waiting for Melo to be traded and the rest of the league to make their deals.

As someone said previously. Nobody would give up a healthy legit 7 foot center other than the Magic who had one sitting behind the best in the league.

Yeah, a 20/9 in PF with very high IQ and team awareness , who NEVER get hurt, are dome a dozen......

And sure am injury prone 7 footer, much less talented than Yao, and more injury prone than him (how often was Yao injured at such age?) ...is as worthy, yeah.....

Why would the lakers do it. Show me when the lakers traded a young guy for a old guy. They traded norm nixon for the rights to byron scott. They traded brian cook for ariza. They dont or at least havent shown in the last 30 yrs to trade potential of a 22 yr old for a 31 yr old.

Scola is great but his limitations are quite clear. You can find other offensively-minded PF's that play smart, hustle and do all the right things in this league much easier than you can find quality two-way 7-footers.

Clearly, others see what I see too otherwise your "20/9!!!" argument would be winning this type of discussion in a landslide.

I'd do it, but I can see how most aren't willing to see Yao 2.0.

With Bynum, this team could be built on defense again!

    Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Battier
    Hayes
    Bynum

Dude is only 23, that's the same age as Greg Oden (whoops, bad example).
    His MRI came back fine:

News: Bynum will not play Tuesday against the Rockets due to a bone bruise on his left knee, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.
Spin: Any issue with Bynum's knees is a concern, but fortunately an MRI revealed only a bruise and no structural damage. The Lakers are calling him day-to-day, so we may have to wait until Thursday for updated information about his status for that night's game against the Spurs.

How about Bynum for Brooks, Battier and Hayes? Lakers need PG help, plus Battier and Hayes could give them spot defensive minutes in the playoff grind. Maybe they would do that if they are going all in to get three peat #4 for Phil.

Only player of ours the lakers would want is probably Lowry, they've been leaving cuz their defense sucks and their weak link is Fisher. He's BYC too and there is noone we'd want from them for him..

I'd do it ...bynums a championship caliber center that can impact both ends of the floor, and he's younger it's worth the risk.

I want height as much as anyone, but I wouldn't trade our most dependable player for an injury risk. I'm only for trading Scola if it helps bring in a Grade A Superstar or if the Rockets decide to go all in rebuilding and trade for a young centerpiece (which Bynum isn't).

If the Rockets continue just making little "plug-in" moves then Scola is someone I would rather keep... same goes for Martin. I would love to see Martin play off a superstar wing or point guard sometime in his career. I think he and his team would thrive in that scenario.

I want healthy Yao for injured Yao... wow, it will be fun to see Yao dominate middle and then throw ball out to Martin for 3's and Scola for mid-range jumpers.

A 7 foot center that can play defense for a power forward with no defense? Yes please - even with the injury risk. I'd be more than happy with a pf rotation of Patterson and Hayes. We could even pick up Landry again. Don't get me wrong. Scola is skilled offensively, but offense isn't this team's problem.
