FWIW, Drexler's last game ever was a playoff elimination game @ Utah, and Jazz fans gave him an ovation. Just sayin
I would give Stockton a standing ovation...if he "accidentally" broke Derek Fisher's leg causing him to never be able play in the NBA ever.
I would not give him a standing O. Not even close. If he had decided that game to change his short "70's" style shorts that game, I would think of clapping for that. But I would never clap for him or any of his accomplishments.
While I begrudgingly admit that Stockton was one of the best point guards to ever play the game, I voted Hell No. My sig speaks for itself
The fact that in the Stockton era Houston ended up on top of Utah overall when it came to success makes it much easier to applaud him. If he had kept us from winning titles, or if the Jazz had nabbed a ring I'd probably go kick him in the balls instead of applaud him.
But Jeter probably slept with your sister, your mom, AND your wife. And you'd still probably give him a standing ovation. Just saying..
I just saw Stockton's 3 in the '97 WCF. It was funny how he celebrated after that shot. I voted "Yes", even though I hate the Jazz, he was still one of game's best point guards, and besides, he never won a ring, so that makes up for it. And the moving pick does not make up for Barkley not switching at the last second. Stupid Barkley..............
Stockton did not do to the Kings, what he did to the Rockets. HELL NO! That shot still eats away at my very core.
You're probably right, but if he didn't - we probably wouldn't be having this conversation right now either.
R U kidding? The Red Sox would boo their own players, and would love every opportunity to disrespect ANY Yankee (including and especially including Derek Jeter).
I'll never forget two Stockton plays. Obviously the three over Barkley, but the other was a play where Brent Price was going up the floor and Stockton leg sweeped him. So my answer is no, no, NO
12.40% of the respondents in this thread are sheep. How can you be a Rockets fan and be so lukewarm about this? Bah! B-a-a-h!
Actually, you don't know what you're talking about. Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are the only two Yankees Red Sox fans respect. If either were to walk off the field for the last time, I will guarantee you they'd receive a standing ovation. If you don't know what you're talking about please refrain from commenting. Thanks.
The Red Sox would chant "Yankees Suck!" at Fenway even when they're not playing the Yankees... just saying.
