I would trade the entire team for Kobe... He will be the MJ for this century... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
If we were to make that trade and get Kobe, then I don't think I'd want Webber. Someone like Dale Davis would be a much better option at PF (not neccesarily Dale Davis, but someone who would rebound and play rough'n'tumble D.. you get the point). I think Kobe and Francis would get along just fine - Kobe would obviously be the primary scoring option and Francis would be able to get him the ball. Defensively it'd be a massive upgrade in the backcourt and if we did this and kept Shandon then we'd probably have a pretty decent defensive team. Of course, I can't see why the Lakers would even consider doing this deal. ------------------
I just don't like Kobe's me-first attitude. He's a great talent, but come on now, the Lakers live and die with Shaq. I suppose it wouldn't be all bad having him on the Rocketse. I just wouldn't trade Steve for him. Maybe Cuttino, but definitely not Steve. Never in a million years. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
ZRB, Kobe's me first attitude, exactly what do you think Cuttino has? DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
Cuttino's me-first attitude is nothing compared to Kobe's. I know that if the Rockets had a dominant low post scorer (25+ per gane), Cuttino would not try to "be the man" and that he would give the big man touches. Kobe has outright said that "he is the man" and that Shaq is getting in his way. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If hakeem was in his prime now and we have the dump it and throw it out offense throwing it down to hakeem 80 percent of the time..Do you honestly think cuttino would be content not having any plays designed for him and making him stand out the three point line all the time? I think not... ------------------
Shows you that in winning a championship, chemistry is a tad bit overrated right? All you need are a few dominate players and a handful of good role players who know and fill their roles... [This message has been edited by ChenZhen (edited April 12, 2001).]
The Lakers had good chemistry last year, at least on the floor because Kobe was willing to work within the offense. They won the championship. This year, their chemistry has suffered and they will not win the title. The best team in the league, the Spurs, have excellent chemistry. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now!
