don't you think he looks more like a pineapple? Alston can't be traded before Dec. 15. so most of you guys would do the trade but concerning the Heats won't. trust me, an expiring $9.6 mil. contract is way more valuable than you think. they don't need Jones anyway, and Rice's contract gives them the cap to persue a 2nd-tier big man like Sheed, KMart, or the likes of Swift/Magloire plus a veteran point like Jon Barry. keep Jones only hurts their future(Butler, Wade) development. trade him this year won't hurt them much and they get a chance to form a line-up like this: Grand, Walker Martin, Wallace Odom, (Butler) Butler, Wade Barry, Norris Jones gives us everything we need: experience, defense, & 3pt%. I'd be even happier if we also trade Mobley for a SF and let Jones play the 2 spot. maybe a 3-way for Ricky Davis or Miles.
We should get d.miles, hes gonna breakout this year. I would consider this trade, if wont have any money next summer anyways, we might as well just get that balla eddie jones and skip.
I would pull the trigger in a heartbeat. It is obvious that MIA would only do it for cap reason so they would probably insist that a pick be included (which I wouldn't mind as I don't anticipate the Rockets having very many high draft picks in the near future).
tell me one thing, why do we need eddie jones, an old injury prone two guard who commands the maximun. don't we have a cheap and effective player in Mobley. This trade is just stupid!
I'd do it if Jones contract is big and will expire in two or three years. Basically, it's like getting a younger Rice and still have his salary as trade bait in the end of contract in near future.
Likemike33, so you can't even read? I said play him at "3" which means the small forward. tell me one player from our current roster who could be better than Jones as a small forward. all we have to give up is Rice's expiering contract, and Rice is even older and injury prone.
