Sure, if the team that got the #1 was minnesota and the good PF was Garnett, you gotta make that trade. If the PF is somebody that sits behind Juwon Howard on the depth chart, then **** no.
I have followed a number of posts by you, especially, extolling the virtue of Andrew Bogut. Tonight, and I am not quite sure when it was, I was listening to one of the ESPN shows and Bogut was compared very favorably to Bill Walton. Walton was participating in the discussion, by the way. Assuming Bogut comes out, it is said that he will, and assuming he does become the second coming of Walton, would you then trade Yao Ming for Bogut plus some help. The question is would trade Yao for Walton in his prime and with good wheels. I think it is a good question. Yao is known commodity and has a few warts although there is little doubt he will always at least a 'good' player. Walton was a top 50 player. Someone traded Chamberlain, Jabbar, and Shaq (2), so odder things have happened.
Yes I heard it too. Brent Musberger said that to Bill Walton during the telecast of the pistons/sixers game. So you are saying you would trade Yao for Bogut because Brent Musberger said he might be the next Bill Walton? Come on now, thats ridiculous. Maybe Bogut does become a great player in the future, but no way would I take that chance and trade a proven player like Yao. Why gamble? We already have a very good team with lots of potential.
As an Aussie, it was very hard to vote no to this. He will be a gun, but i still dont think it's worth it. The rox are looking for a ring now, not another trip to the lottery & rebuilding. In Krockets defense, Bogut is good, just not that good (yet). For those that dont know about him, he's a 7' red headed kid from Australia. He was the MVP at the World Junior Championships (players <22 years old) when he was 17 or 18. He's had lots of international experience, including player for Aust at the olympics. Great rebounder & has a good shot/range. He's expected to go top 3 in this years draft He was offered a "huge" contract (3mil plus per year) as a 17 y.o. to play pro ball in Europe, but declined & went to a Utah college. He did this because he believed it would improve his game more than playing in Europe.
Bogot the second coming of Walton? That's what they've been saying about Yao since his rookie year. Talk is just that, talk. He still has to prove that he can hack it in this league. And Yao, even with his deficiencies has proven that he can dominate for stretches at a time in the NBA. You just don't trade an improving 18 and 8 player for a rookie who actually has a lower upside. That's just silly.
Lauren Jackson = Aussie WNBA MVP + championship Andrew Bogut = Aussie NBA MVP + championship Aussie rules !!! But rockets will get rings before Bogut gets his. so......
my spidey sense tells me that this thread MIGHT get locked... but in the meantime, it deserves ZERO STARS ! [/B][/QUOTE] Um dude no p*rn pics... .. The dude doesnt have a suit.. just painted skin lol....
Haven't you people learned ANYTHING from the past? White non-European Centers NEVER become superstars in this league. Oh, and I vote "F*** No" even though you don't have it as an option, AND I rated you "no star", which is what Bogut will be in this league (a Chris Mihm at best)
I voted SURE. Minnesota probably won't make the playoffs. So Rockets get KG and #1 overall for Yao. Even a YOF like me has to admit that's a good deal for the Rockets. I suppose the Rockets can then trade that #1 overall+Juwon+Wesley+James for Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. We make Duncan play center and you have: Duncan/KG/TMac/Sura/Parker
