Another disguised thread by a T O H to diss Tmac. Well, perhaps it's a disguised thread to bring out all the T O Hs from their closet to bash Tmac? One way or another, this kind of lame threads should be locked.

Oh, I forgot to say... the OP, tsunami, YOU SUCK.

I thought this was still the sheed+billups one. Hamilton and Billups is a good trade for Tmac. At this point those two guys are their two best players so if sheed gets any worse this would be a terrible trade for the Pistons. I don't think they would like it very much today anyways those guys do too much for their team.

I think a 3 way trade with Cleveland and LA where we send away Tmac and in return get Lebron and Kobe is about as realistic as this trade happening

I'm not sure why everyone thinks Detroit wouldn't do this deal. Somebody's rule of thumb was that whoever comes out with the best player wins the trade. McGrady is the best of the 3, so I don't think Detroit would be off their rocker to give it some serious consideration.

(Though, I don't know how this would solve our "SG problem," as the OP suggests. How does giving up one SG and picking up another, inferior one solve any problems at that position?)

are Billups + Rip + Alston(backup pg) better than TMac + Alston + Brooks (backup pg) ?

Billups can replace TMac's passing, Rip can replace TMac's shooting. Our back court shooting percentage will up at least 4 points.

Billups/Alston could be the best PG combo. All we need are slashers backup Rip and Shane. Draft a young one and use MLE sign another one, even Green may turn out good, this is the easiest position to fill compared with C, PG, and PF.

Rafer and Billups are point guards. I understand the improvement at point guard. How do you trade McGrady for Hamilton, not add a back-up big guard, and claim you solved your problem at shooting guard?

Rip is a pretty good shooting guard.

Wow, if we can get billups and rip for just tmac, that would be a )($*%) STEAL for the ages!! I dont know what GM that would do that. Trading 2 main pieces for an overdue superstar who probably is past his prime. WOW! If this trade goes through, please wake me up because I AM DREAMING! Billups and rip are very consistent and play 100% team ball. No showboating or stat hogging players. I like I like.

    Billups
    Rip
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

Basically we would rock any team we meet.

detroit would field stuckey, tmac, prince, wallace, and mcdyess with maxielle and 2 good young players off the bench.

it's obvious that the reason they haven't gone further is b/c of the lack of offense.

dumars would not trade both guys b/c you still need to develop stuckey a little bit, but he would not mind trading wallace + one of them.

2 Old players at the 21 million price tag, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

They won't get us past 1st round in the west, without Yao they don't.

Unless you trade the Rockets to the East along with the trade and a guarantee that Yao will be healthy for the playoff. Maybe.

Cmon Since the Championship they are done nothing. If Sheed doesnt play well they lose.

Cant pass the bad Cleveland team, can win games at home vs the struggling playoff road team in the Celtics.

Detroit are the one hit wonder, championship vs a bad chemistry Lakers.
They been there in the ECF thanks to an awful Eastern conference, even T-Mac by himself took the 1st place, Billups/Hamillton Detroit team to a 7 game.

No, we need superstars to stay and improve the ball club, not just trade nonsense and stay put or regress.

Look what happen to the Bulls when they acquired Big Wallet, they where good as a 5 player unit, by them self they are just solid role players including Prince who I think is the best of every Detroit player(defense and Offense) and still not a superstar that can carry a team.

I love Mac, but this trade makes sense for the Rockets. Rip is great in a motion offense, and our PG would be pretty good with Billups starting and Rafer coming off the bench as a steady-handed 'push the tempo' (he's actually pretty good at running the ball up) PG. Rockets management would still have to find a way to back up Rip with a quality player, but I think that the Rockets would be better off after the trade.

I voted no though, cause I like T-Mac in Rockets red!

I have problem with Tmac FT shooting. He sucks compare to Kobe. His inconsistent at the line prove that he's a streak shooter which mean he can get hot and cold. Not consistent of a player.
