He has been to the playoffs twice, he has had a winning record once. I don;t consider a career loser a franchise player.
well, that's you. morey would give him the max in a second if he knew chris bosh was going to sign here. just like all the other GMs in this league.
Before he got hurt I would have taken Jefferson over Bosh any day. But you're right about this year I didn't know Bosh was playing this well let's see if he can keep it up.
Well, everything I have said is true. He has had 1 winning season in his career. His career has consisted of putting up pretty good numbers on pretty bad teams. Until he does something otherwise, I see no reason why he would be considered a franchise player. Everything you have stated is pure speculation.
THIS YEAR: he's playing like a franchise player (hence the stats i posted earlier are from THIS YEAR).
i suggest guys watch him. he's taken his game to another level this year. i knew he bulked up over the summer, but jeez (14 ft attempts per game). obviously, he's not going to keep this up all year. but at the end of the day, he's still going to average 25 and 10-11. that's impressive stuff. al jefferson is nice before the injury, but i always thought chris bosh has a more versatile game. he's finally realizing his potential this year. dude's extending his game out to the 3pt line too. i think last year and the criticisms finally made him work this summer to realize his potential as an all-nba big man.
THIS YEAR has been 9 games Chris Kaman is putting up 22/9 this season. Is he a franchise player now? Andrew Bynum is putting up 21/12. Is he now a franchise player? One season, let alone 9 GAMES, means absolutely nothing
it's nice if you actually watch the games also. i know those guys have the stats also, but i've seen them play. all bynum does is collect dunks and putbacks. his 1-on-1 game is beyond god awful. chris kaman is actually the 2nd best center this year after howard. the clips would be pretty darn good if baron davis wasn't pretty darn pathetic. his teammates just suck outside of gordon. baron davis controlling the ball obviously hurt the team A TON. al thornton is having a 2nd year flop. butler is sucking after getting a contract. all those guys are shooting less than 40%. so i suggest you grab LP and watch chris bosh. stats don't do justice what he has been doing this offseason. his teammates are wildly inconsistent. he's the only consistent player in all 9 games.
I would trade anyone on this team for either bosh or Jefferson. Yes even yao for jefferson. Both are injury prone, but yao is older and max potential was about 25-9 now closer to 18-8. Jefferson is a beast on the board with a very high ceiling. A lot of his early career injuries were due to his weight (which he lost 30 lbs) last years injury ended his breakout season, but the kid can surely ball.
Getting to the line almost 14 times a game is pretty damn good that let's you know he's going to the basket, and not just standing outside shooting jump shots. What's his fg% looking like?
Well, yall knew any trade of shane was going to bring his publicist out(rv6). Why wouldnt houston do it when they have chase, ariza and tracy coming back?
wow seriously Leebigez? I thought you were better than that...i think i made a good case as to why we shouldnt trade shane specifically for Prz and why it wouldn't work. That's what the thread is about, not would i trade shane at all. This shouldn't always be about who likes shane or not, but what is best for Houston once yao returns. I even pointed out how shane's expiring contract is valuable trade bait next year and having that is better than using it for Prz, only to have prz split via FA this summer, but i guess i'm damned if i do damned if i dont...
I don't see a contender having enough money and i can't see Pryz opting out to take less money not that i support the trade or is against it, i actually think it's a good deal for both teams, but not so much for next year unless Yao is out again, because at some point we need to continue to run.
Do you want the Blazers to win a championship? If you do, send Battier there. He's the only piece they're missing. That would be one heck of a team.
i think it would be a case where he'd give up the money now in order to make more in the long run. He's not going to get a multi yr contract for 7 mill a season after this contract is over. So it may make sense to give up 7 mill this year to sign for multiple yrs at a lower price. A year may not seem like much time to wait, but it's the difference between him being 31 or 32 yrs old. He can get more money for more years at 31 and be set until retirement instead of risking another year in which he may decline or get injured, then at 32 yrs of age coming off injury he'll have trouble getting a good deal. as for contenders, Boston has expiring deals in allen, scalabrine, house, t allen, daniels, giddens, walker, williams and hudson....i can see ray allen taking a paycut to sign someone like PRz and he'd fit in with Boston's D. Cavs have shaq and biz coming off the books too, so they may be specifically looking for a center and neither big Z or shaq deserve to resign close to what they make now and i can't see them re-signing both, they need a younger center to pair up with lebron's prime years and prz would still have 3-4 solid yrs left. Then there's utah who'll likely loose boozer and has other expiring contracts in harpring, korver, fesenko...there's probably other teams as well..
